Correct me if I'm wrong, but: there's nothing new about putting that $12B+ into escrow. This was agreed to all along. They haven't dropped their fight against the EU to eventually "not" have to fork this over permanently.
(But the headlines would lead people to think otherwise).
There's nothing new here, other than the money will finally start moving into escrow.

Hey there - does anyone here have Cook's email? I thought it was tim.cook@apple.com - wasn't that the email we have used in the past? It's kicking back now. Anyone have it? Would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Same idea from a different angle, Mr. Elmer-DeWitt. www.ped30.com/2017/12/04/apple-iphone-x-demand/"From a note to clients by Rosenblatt analyst Jun Zhang that landed in my inbox Monday:
We believe Apple may have recently requested Hon Hai add more production lines in order to speed up shipments before the holiday season. We cannot imagine Apple making this move if demand was weakening…
In our view, concerns regarding iPhone X demand due to shortening wait time may be overblown… With phones in very short supply and no inventory in authorized retail channels, we see no reason for Apple to cut its iPhone X production forecast."

www.cnbc.com/2017/12/01/amid-tax-bill-euphoria-one-big-part-of-the-stock-market-is-getting-left-behind-tech.htmlGoldman Sachs strategists say the proposed tax bills could boost aggregate S&P 500 earnings by 5 percentage points next year, but for tech, it could be a 3 percent decline.
"Tech has the lowest effective tax rate of any sector [24 percent] and would benefit least under the various proposals. The tax proposals target multinationals by trying to restrict "earnings stripping" and introducing a minimum tax on overseas revenues. Although Tech has the highest expected sales growth and profit margins, it also has the highest risk from tax reform, valuation, and government regulation," wrote Goldman analysts. On a positive note: Oppenheimer CIO Krishna Memani sees the hit to tech shares as temporary. "Once we get through this period into the new year, they can continue to deliver," he said.
