Another step back towards the ATH this week. Apple welcomes crowds of customers celebrating grand opening of first retail store in Austria describes Apple's latest transformation of an historic retail space into a shrine for Apple fans, with Angela Ahrendts playing her usual role. Of note, at least for me, are some very cool graphics in the store. Apple's iPhone outpaces overall smartphone market, Gartner finds has data about the holiday sales results. Samsung actually held a slightly higher percentage of the market sales for the period, but the ASPs were $254 and $796 respectively. The snow has melted and we have had a couple of unseasonably warm days, but I am sure no New Englander is fooled into thinking that winter will not rear its head again soon. As always, Red Sox spring training games on the tube are a welcome reminder that this too shall pass.

As always, Red Sox spring training games on the tube are a welcome reminder that this too shall pass. Enjoy it! For at least the last few years, either we get the storms in the Tahoe area, or the East coast does. Some other places like Washington and Colorado haven't necessarily had that dichotomy, but due to the jet stream and high pressure ridges, we do. We've had crazy warm weather here for most of the last 2 months now, which is great for a relief from last year but has kept snow to a minimum. It has given time to take care of outside chores, like fixing a fence, installing a muffler, and repointing some rock work. The cold temps hit us a week ago, switching from 10 or 15 degrees above averages to maybe 10 below the averages. And if things hold up, we should finally get some decent snow storms this week. It's nice to expect feet instead of inches. Good to see AAPL recovering on no news. If it can be at 175 here, maybe with some 172-178 movement, it should be able to make some progress once positive news on the company, products, or dividend/buybacks occur.

Spence's point is reasonable, and has been mentioned before. It may well be an issue.
The HomePod is nice, but I do not see a big market here. The sound isn't that good. The AirPods are nice, but I find them annoying. The only real current winner I see is the Apple Watch. Perhaps the variety of iPads.
I do think the larger OLED phones next cycle could be big.

Perhaps you would share why you are invested in Apple, because your posts seem to be relentlessly negative. I am sure that many readers find me to be a Pollyanna, but I can certainly cite the benefits I have gained to explain why.

After all, it's not like he's *always* negative about Apple, is it? I am not at all negative. I own Apple everything. I used Apple computers when people laughed at me.
I am just guarding the goalposts.
