Wait a minute...weren't there just stories about there being plenty of XR's so clearly they weren't selling as well as expected?

I'm assuming this is a macro event as I see nothing negative regarding Apple ?
BIG overreaction IMHO ...
Cheers to the longs.

The two data points that are important to me is where will we be on Oct 30 and Nov 1.
If we find ourselves around 220 and 215, we should be ready for a selloff regardless of what Apple reports.

I'm not the technician you are, but...a selloff going into the holiday season? Whatever the price is Nov. 1, I find hard to believe that it will be lower come January 1.

Tesla short seller Andrew Left of Citron Research reveals Tuesday he is now betting the stock will rise when the company reports earnings on Wednesday. "Plain and simple – Tesla is destroying the competition," Shades of Apple destroying: Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola, Palm & Blackberry .... I love it. Model3 is Tesla's iPhone .... I've heard people say there is no market ... they are wrong and the evidence is in. The real story is how market's get manipulated, how does Citron go from being a huge short who actually sued Elon to a bull long? It suits their narrative ... the BS shorts have driven it down enough and now will ride it back up. It's the same crap we have seen with Apple ... real reform of the stock market starts with the SEC getting serious about "Analysts" and also business reporters being held liable for false stories such as Bloomberg and the spy chip which simply did not exist. Hoping Apple will recover later today when people get their senses back ... iPhone XR is going to sell very well and I think any selloff in Apple before the holiday quarter is a serious mistake. Cheers to the longs .... AAPL and TSLA !

TA for S&P says we are going down in Nov and even more in Dec. the market will drag Apple down with it. Apple can report strong earnings and decent guidance!, but WS can use one data point to justify selloff. For me I think the data point will be iPhone numbers. I am modeling a drop in sales YOY for Q1. The X was cool enough last year to see flat YOY Q1 sales. There is not enough reason to suddenly upgrade this year to more expensive iPhones. The world economy has been slowing down and here in the US we may have hit a peak last Q in GDP. So more expensive iPhones in this environment does not indicate increased sales. I still think we have a decent chance of hitting ATH in the first 3 months of 2019.

I think that this is precisely the problem that the XR is aimed to solve. I expect robust sales for the holiday season from folks who can get many of the new features that they could not afford with the X family last year. We shall see.

I agree that the XR is designed for that purpose. I just think that the XS and X customer is different then the XR. Marketing the XR as the C won’t work in my view because the customer who bought the C for $1 with carrier incentives is not the same as the one who has to pay $800 out the door today.

Cheers to the longs .... AAPL and TSLA ! Couldn't agree more our biggest holding is AAPL and I see TSLA as a "young" apple, with all of the excitement and potential risks and rocky ride as well - We took delivery on our model 3 extended range about 3 months ago, and I have to say it's an amazing vehicle, and feels like a completely different experience vs. a traditional ICE car, supercharging, long trips, in town driving, autopilot in traffic on the LA freeways (my favorite feature) for both safety and taking the drudgery out of a very mundane activity - very very disruptive. And so little maintenance vs. a conventional engine - over the air updates, I could on and on - but I'm a believer and their ability to disrupt both the luxury car market with the M3 and also the mid-range sedan market is truly astonishing. As a percentage term of our portfolio - willing to still consider the TSLA shares as more speculative - but the higher risk-reward I can live-with, having tome to (but still) profited so handsomely from owning a ton of APPL shares since mid 2007. Also treated myself to the XS max (since I sat out the x last year) and it is amazing. The XR has def. potential to be a huge hit for them - hitting the sweet spot of price and "cool" factor of the face id and more immersive screen - don't miss the home button a bit - and I'm typing this on a new 32gb ram MacBook pro, which for work is an excellent machine - I hope the new iPad pros also have a usb c connector so I won't feel like such a sucker for having to transition to USB c for mobile, but it's clearly the connector for future high-end portables. (with the minor of exception of lighting surviving for phones) since it still is a bit smaller than USB-c and apple would probably not even dare to change that yet - BUT with the upcoming rumored features of the USB C port on the new iPad pro - it would be interesting what thing could possibly trickle down to next year's iPhones.... (i.e. driving a connected 4K display?) certainly this new processor is up to the task. and speaking of processors - you have to give AAPL a HUGE thumbs up for designing their own chips for phones - they've just left android in the DUST in this category - and I'd love to see similar evolutions with MacBook pro processors in terms of speed, and energy usage if they can pull that off i their computing line
