Hi there! Today's a good green day for AAPL so far. The driver for the rise to a new ATH today is this upgrade by Amit Daryanani: Evercore hikes its Apple target price to $305The price targets ~$300 are piling up. With a blowout earnings in Jan, the 350s will start coming in. If they do, then Gene Munster deserves a hat tip. Around this time last year, a time when all others were dumping AAPL as fast and as hard as they could, he was THE ONE & ONLY analyst standing up for AAPL saying the stock should hit 350 within two years. We're at 271.07 as I write this. Paging artman

Around this time last year, a time when all others were dumping AAPL as fast and as hard as they could, he was THE ONE & ONLY analyst standing up for AAPL saying the stock should hit 350 within two years. Is hoping for $305 in 12 months really why we are holding this stock? That's 13% from here, call it 14.5% including the dividend. While that is a good enough average over time (BIG woo woo....31 years out), it's not that exciting for the coming 12 months. I'd hope for a little more action and volume, today. Things might be petering out, though there's the trade card to hopefully be tossed out at some point. Actual results are still nearly 2 months out. I like glancing at the RSI to try to keep things in check, namely any euphoric notions (I don't even have a use for a Corvette, but I did walk into a Ford dealer yesterday, only to have him tell me he thought I was wrong about multiple locking diff options on the F-150 since he had never seen it), but also when things seem really down. Right now, RSI is back in line. I'd like for this to track early 2017, which had a larger RSI overshoot at first, but came back for a bump and didn't let off too much. But I hear hope in investments doesn't matter much. It doesn't feel euphoric or bubbly right now, but sometimes it's hard to tell and all tops aren't like 2000 and 2006. At the same time, I'm not looking to sell it all, so a receding tide will be a much better ride down than dropping off a cliff. schrts.co/NhwNnYNrI'd rather AAPL bopped around in the low $270's (FIXED!!!) today and gained a point or two in the last 15 minutes, but it just dipped a little below $170 (FIXED!!!). Time to move some firewood and then see how the snow is doing today.

Thanks chinacat! And thanks AAPL!

Again! It looks like I'm just having a hard time grasping that AAPL is at the $270 level. Thanks chinacat! And thanks AAPL! Yep, it’s great to be near 300 and I’m pretty sure our new services business will prevent the shocking free falls we’ve seen in Apple over the years. We don’t know much about 5G yet but with an installed base of a billion plus units, I’m sure apple has thought of many ways it can be monetized over the next several years. For all we know, this may just be the beginning.

It looks like I'm just having a hard time grasping that AAPL is at the $270 level. Thanks chinacat! And thanks AAPL! With that in mind, and volume low, I just closed out the 1k I bought just over 12 months ago at $185.9 (EDIT: extra digits were trading costs) for $270.94. 45% in a year...I can live with that. It didn't look like it would quite make it there, but the last 10 minutes of the day seems to have some buyers. Likewise, I just wrote some Jan '21 330 covered calls at $10.35. It didn't look like it would go through, but someone was fishing in these last few minutes of the day. If those end up being called away, it's at roughly a 25% annualized gain over the next 13 months. I can deal with that. I may have a few more tax related sales to do this year, but I'll continue to feel great if things go up further, and yet feel not as bad if they turn. Congrats to the longs! And a new ATH in those last few minutes, at $271.10.

Been on the sidelines fighting Lyme and depression. Just surfaced to discover this high dollar value. I think back wistfully to 2006 and adding $10,000 AAPL to my portfolio and had to liquidate in 2007 as a home down payment. If I'd held it would be over $300,000 today. Crazy value (and still crazy that the P/E is so low).
Still unemployed - the myth of a "military transition" is exactly that in my case - but decided to cash out retirement funds for half the down payment on a house. After 7 years and losing Mrs. Rez to brain cancer, I figured having a base of operations was the only logical first step to restart my life. Starting over at age 49. Not sure where to go from here. Before I lost my job I got all new Apple stuff which should last me a while.
Did anybody configure the new Mac Pro with max specs? You really need to go do it. You can thank me later!

Thanks to all for the kind words. I'm now in Central Massachusetts, USA, near Sturbridge. Happy to connect over a beer or burger. Plenty of local breweries, I have discovered. My new place would be a great mini-AFB retreat site. See y'all on the 'net.
