Welcome to new member vapormo! Once you’ve gotten the lay of the land, please do introduce yourself. If you have been monitoring the forum, then you should know by now that we mostly don’t bite . It’s always nice to add a fresh perspective to the group. Meanwhile... Today in Apple history: It’s time for Apple Watch. I have to admit that it has been much more successful than I would have guessed, and wearables are now a major growth area for our favorite fruit company.

We need to be careful with disinformation. They weren't "Coronavirus Pandemic Bonds,", they were simply "Pandemic Bonds" True, specifically. But let me clarify something here. Please don't mis-interpret what I was saying. The point I was trying to make was that there ARE such things as Pandemic Bonds to bet on that INCLUDE Coronavirus. And you may speculate on that if you wish. My post was based on these Main Stream News Sources... Investors in World Bank’s ‘pandemic bonds’ face big losses due to the coronavirus outbreak www.cnbc.com/2020/03/18/coronavirus-world-bank-pandemic-bond-investors-face-big-losses.htmlWorld Bank pandemic bond under pressure as coronavirus spreads www.reuters.com/article/us-china-health-worldbank-pandemic-idUSKBN20D2HI[excerpt] "Losses to investors depend on the number of deaths and geographical spread. In the most extreme case, a global outbreak - defined as more than 2,500 deaths across more than eight countries with a certain number of fatalities in each country - will wipe out the bondholder’s entire investment." An inside look at the debate around pandemic bonds, which have $425 million hinging on how deadly the coronavirus ends up being markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/pandemic-bond-debate-inside-look-world-bank-coronavirus-relief-investment-2020-2-1028906657?op=1[excerpt] "Funds can only be released from the PEF for non-flu epidemics 12 weeks after the "start of the event," according to a World Bank document. The novel coronavirus strains were first reported on in late December, leaving funds locked up until late March."

This could become a Pandora's Box sometime in the future. I think Apple should be careful taking this path. I agree with the comments.

"Commenters" base their skepticism on the fact that they did not understand what that API would do, or they just didn't look it up; It's always maddening when this happens because then one has to do the work oneself to go read the original source. Anyhow, It seems eminently doable and private to me. And it is so very important because it may be the one serious contribution that allows to slowly open up and restart, providing one of the two pillars that are required (the second one is availability of testing). I will certainly use it when it comes out, because why wouldn't I want to know that I have been around a potentially contagious person for a significant time? Read about how contact tracing will work

It was a good day with a good close. It look like there was a battle the last few minutes of trading.

At the risk of seeming to focus on the trivial in the face of the supremely important, I have noticed that many, perhaps most, of those remotely interviewed about the pandemic on MSNBC are wearing AirPods for the interview.

Wild week - congrats Longs! Some data points I'm really excited about - Apple order for the next round of iPhone - over 200 units million was what I read, and Katy Huberty's prediction for a dividend raise in her note this AM - PED didn't cover that in his summary but they discussed that part of her report today on CNBC this AM - go AAPL.

Just about all on Fox Business and most of Fox News too. Most were the latest iPods.

I see AirPods in all of the interviews on the NFL network.
