www.ped30.com/2021/04/15/apple-trees-restore-fund/"Apple today announced a first-of-its-kind carbon removal initiative — called the Restore Fund — that will make investments in forestry projects to remove carbon from the atmosphere . . . "Apple's not sticking to its knitting! How dare they invest one penny in something that doesn't help AAPL's bottomline, like, say, humanity's survival. /s Way to go, Tim and Lisa Jackson, for encouraging global awareness and corporate involvement in the greatest threat around. What a great company. For those that feel CO2 is just a beneficial gas, well, it is, but not in the concentrations that humans are causing to build up in our atmosphere...

It all depends on the device and labeling. I never took to using Apple's newer mice, with hidden scroll wheels and multi-buttons. Likewise, it's annoying to use touchpad on multiple laptops, that have different sensitivities and settings, even if that is a problem that to me is more hit on some of these PC laptops. I could see it's use on iPhones to make it even more waterproof. Some anodized labeling could solve the problem mentioned in the article, of not being able to find the volume when needed. Nice to see AAPL up where it was 2 days ago. I laughed this morning, seeing that. It's just a yoyo sometimes, jumping around the general trend line. Luckily it looks like this time that trend line is upwards, matching the very long term direction.

I like buttons. Removing the home button from the iPad was a disappointment to me. I love to toggle on and off. This press, hold, press again, swipe left and swipe with 2 fingers is stuff programmers like. I realize I am a minority.

Mac Daily News has Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple to phase out smaller iPhone mini models. I am not surprised; for many folks their phone is their computer, and as always size matters . Above Avalon has a long examination by Neil Cybart of Apple’s worldwide, multi-national evolution of their supply and manufacturing operations in Designed by Apple in California, Not Assembled in China. Tim Cook’s transformation of Apple’s production process has been perhaps the key to their incredible financial success, with no disrespect meant to the brilliant folks who conceive and design the products.

The best worst example was Office 6 I think after Office 98. 98 was a great package for the Mac, but the next version, I think 6 was the worst with non sense like changing Command L to mean something different for no reason. I wonder if that was Steve's motivation to end the need for Office for the average person?
