Friday Greetings AAPL Investors: Apple Investor News, "always updating news stream”. Bloomberg: Apple to Test Hybrid Work From Store and Home for Retail Staff “Retail Flex...will allow employees to work some weeks at their retail store location and other weeks remotely." Glad to see testing out different work options, amid lots of unknown variables. The company will likely get it right, just like their supply chain.

No reason to get too AAPL crazie Personally, I'm hoping for a touch at the P/E of 40 that AAPL touched last year. That will be the heady times. A pretty good jobs report. I don't quite understand the unemployment number of 5.9% today, vs yesterday it was that only Maine and Nevada were over 4%. But that was probably weekly vs monthly, and maybe something else is being tossed in too. finance.yahoo.com/news/june-2021-jobs-report-non-farm-payrolls-unemployment-labor-184624849-183926242.htmlFWIW, at 5% unemployment is doing pretty darn good. The 16 year chart they had showed the only time unemployment got below 4% was for about a year and a half just before COVID, as the lead-up to the 2008 recession had unemployment bottom at about 4.5%. The only question now is if how long it will take to get below 5%, if that's in the next month, or if it will take until the end of summer (for a variety of reasons).

From a technical standpoint, there's nothing stopping us from re-testing the ATH now.

I think we’re dealing with several issues that could make for an incredible year. First is the usual transition into the fall school year and the Christmas season and everyone anticipates huge numbers being thrown up because of this and the stock will often go up accordingly. Apple has a larger and larger installed base with phones 2+ years old and many are ready for a new phone plus a lot of people having the cash this year to buy them. The third tailwind is the larger and larger portion of revenue coming from “other than iPhone“. Each quarter these numbers get bigger and it’s starting to add up.
Finally something that we haven’t seen in a long time is first and second quarter numbers that were not just good but blowout. By itself these blowout quarters creates a large amount of momentum .
Barring a black swan event I’m expecting the next three reporting periods to be quite amazing.. 200 dollars by next spring? Perhaps.

Eric in Austin One thing to remember is that there are still limited uses for money. International travel is opening up, but only so much. Only a few places have given out as high a percentage of vaccines as the US. US travel is still an option, but limited international travel and cruises take a big bite out of spending in those areas, leaving it for other areas. And autos are normally a huge spending area. But with new, and thus also used, inventory getting thin, and prices going up on used, that limits spending there at least somewhat. Bring on the spending on Apple products! It's not the only available game in town, but switching out a smaller US trip for a bigger international trip leaves quite a big chunk of change to spend in other ways.

yahoo!finance has Why Apple (AAPL) Could Beat Earnings Estimates Again. Suddenly there's an old Who song in my head..."Won't Get Fooled Again." The catch is...we've seen stock price unaffected recently by earnings beats. What I (and I believe most AFBers) want is a new AAPL high.

So close to $140! Wonder if we'll see a dip back to $130

So close to $140! Wonder if we'll see a dip back to $130 The daily range shows it touched 140.00 I didn't see it, instead outside weeding. 140 is nice. Frankly, from most any time more than 11 months ago, it was amazing. It had been so long since AAPL had even seen a P/E of 30. But with action and performance comes a new baseline to hit and exceed. AAPL should do it, mainly on a stock price but potentially also on a P/E, given the great earnings growth. But at the same time, remember that this is the level we only dreamed of for so many years. Apple is a whole different company from when I was 20-25 years younger. Even though there have been some very bullish guesses from time to time, that mostly failed to work out, over the very long term Apple and AAPL have exceeded all expectations! Enjoy it!
