When the presentation was over, I kept asking myself what was new in the watch and could not find anything. (I also thought it was weird that the COO was making an Apple Watch presentation. Grooming as a TC successor?)

Grooming as a TC successor?) Did you not see the part about the new display? On this product, the size and brightness of the display defines the experience. 20% more screen over the Series 6 is significant. More rugged and durable as well. Every time Apple does a new release, all kinds of web pundits yap on and on about nothing being new and everything being incremental. What do they expect - these things to levitate?! Just more page-hit garbage that defines the Web these days. On the phone, for example there is a tendency to ignore “mundane” improvements like we see in the A15 chip and in the cameras. Those advances are material and make a difference. More processing power and better battery life at the same time is an example. I have an 11 Pro, and and going to get the 13 Pro. Primarily due to the camera improvements. Especially the telephoto and macro features. Really looking forward to trying those out.

Finally OLED displays on all the gizmos. If Apple integrated a taser with the iPhone could we call the device an iPhaser?

PED has Apple’s A15 CPU fails to impress. Is a brain drain to blame?. Pretty stark list of talent recently moving to a couple of well-funded startups. Hopefully, there are just as many talented folks who would jump at a chance to join Apple, especially with the recent focus on internal chip development in Cupertino.

Ha. I thought I heard them say that the competition still hasn't caught up to the A14.

Green!
A close within pennies of Friday's close, but about half the volume.
As at least one article put it, I think as investors we might be tempted to really want impactful releases in hopes of a megacycle, whereas this is a strong and steady release with plenty of things that will make sales, and some that might even shrink personal upgrade cycles. I would have liked just a little more on the Watch, but a larger screen, better battery, and stronger crystal are all good solid things. The Cult of Mac article makes me wonder if there could be more with an actual announcement. I missed the section of video, but in the articles and Apple's page I don't think I saw mention of the chip used.
Nice to see green. I was somewhat ready to buy a large chunk if the stock dropped down near 140. It seems like that possibility has passed this time around.

I missed the section of video, but in the articles and Apple's page I don't think I saw mention of the chip used. I noticed at the time that it was omitted and hoped that it only meant that the decision hadn’t been made yet. It’s a pretty short time to the expected, though not yet announced, release date, so I would think that final production has to have already started.

They could have easily thrown out a name (I think it said the S2 is the current, so S3), but not specs. For a watch, speed might matter even less. But it gives it capabilities, or it could just go for lower power for better battery life. Looks like we'll be getting a Blue 13 Pro. I might even order it Friday, especially since we are up at 5:30 anyways for one of our kids schools. The Watch, or Watches, will have to wait a little bit. If getting multiples, maybe it will be a 7 and a SE or 3, where we can pass down the lower one next year on an upgrade to an 8.
