Apple realizes no one wants small phones, increases iPhone 13 orders. A sweeping generalization. There is a huge demand for phones the size of the original through 4s. These fit in the front pockets of men's pants. But since men are no long a valued demographic no one has ever asked the question: What do men want? Instead they assume men want a purse to carry around some large phone. You will never know the demand for a quality 4s because it will never be made. The SE doesn't even have face detection which was the best improvement in years. Touch ID only works for a slice of the population. Plus SE is too big to be comfortable in the front pockets.

I use the 13 Pro because I can put it in my front pocket. The 13 Pro Max was too big for my pockets.

As I have mentioned, I recently purchased an SE. IMHO, it is quite small, but then again, I am 6-6 230, so maybe my pockets are larger than yours. I do miss Face ID, but Touch ID works perfectly for me. The more important issue for me is the space that the touch bar takes up is a relatively large part of the display space on such a small phone, but the whole reason I got the SE is that my iPhone is my least used Apple device. I have no idea why you say that men are no longer a valued demographic, and the idea that “they assume men want a purse” is just bizarre. I usually carry my iPhones in my shirt pocket, but my previous iPhone X also fit well in my pants pocket. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. IMHO, the reason larger phones are more popular is because many people can only afford a single Apple device and find the larger screen to be more useful in wider variety of tasks. Obviously, your mileage does vary.

On a quick trip, and didn’t even bring a screen other than my iPhone 11. Normally I’d bring an iPad, but with a tight 5 minutes to pack after some house projects, I just didn’t think about it. It was a nice drive, and this might have been my first drive in 20 years at any hour through Sacramento and part of the Bay Area that had no traffic. It was great!
The 11 is the largest iPhone I’ve had, but I can’t think of any pants or shorts it hasn’t fit into. Most jacket pockets work too.
Same for my son.
Otoh, some girls and womens front pants pockets are small, and some pants even have fake pockets or none. To carry her iPhone and keys on a hike on Saturday, my wife took a “clip on pocket”, basically a mini Fanny pack.
Luckily Apple makes a variety of products, for our variety of situations and preferences. Of course, the same can be said about clothing.

I don't understand any of this! 1) My 8+ fits very well in my front pockets. It even fits in the pocket of my gym shorts, 2) Touch ID works for everyone. Except when wearing gloves or with wet fingers. 3) There is not a huge demand for smaller phones. Just look at sales. 4) There are some people that just prefer Touch ID to Face ID (at least two on this very board!) But it looks like most people prefer Face ID at this point. 5) Men are a HIGHLY valued demographic. Especially when it comes to tech items, because they spend more and overbuy ("I really need 512GB") a lot more often than women do. 6) Nobody, in any business, assumes that men want to carry a purse (or even a murse). Hey wait ... is your post a delayed April Fool's post?‽??!!!!! You got me!
