PED has Mark Gurman: Apple testing nine new Macs. “After years of slow growth, the Mac computer division enjoyed a resurgence the past two years, helped in part by home office workers buying new equipment.” More brilliant foresight from Tim Cook, wrt Apple silicon.
Not that it matters much, but for the nitpicky that might be a rumor to check on in 6 months. Maybe Apple is testing all of those at once, and they very well are at some level, but if there are differing release dates then they would be at different points in the process, and thus have different people looking at them. In the past, the first letter of the "codename" varied on some products, so a MacPro wouldn't have the same one as a laptop. But who knows what they do these days, and I don't remember the rumors from recent years. Like any good rumor, I want it to be true, and I don't really have any concrete reason why it wouldn't be true. Just some mild skepticism. But hopefully it's true, getting even faster products out there so that Apple can find some great competitive advantages to push more consumer change. Get a couple games, apps, or video filters that really need the power, make them easy for not just the pro but also the consumer, and push them.

Only ship dates would be actual breaking news. I'll see your ANALyst, and raise you a Piper Sandler ANALyst. I am reminded of that one time that Tim Cook warned investors mid-quarter that Apple was in danger of missing its guidance targets. Yes, Apple doesn't really guide nowadays, so maybe there is nothing to miss, so there would be no similar warning in this era? From Luca last earnings call: Seems like that is so general a statement, there would be nothing to walk back, short of a failure to set another record March quarter?
