Also on Daring Fireball, from last week, BBEdit turns 30I haven't used it in years, but when I needed something with more features than Simpletext but less than Word, it was the one. Great for HTML, but also coding outside of CodeWarrior, or just standard text stuff.

A green day, even if AAPL is lagging the S&P and Nasdaq.
Let's try to get some discussion going on, while the days tick by until earnings. For those that have an Apple Watch, what feature do you like best about it? And if you could have a feature added to it, what would it be?

For those that have an Apple Watch, what feature do you like best about it? And if you could have a feature added to it, what would it be? For me the killer app is paying for almost everything with my Watch. So fast and easy. Having it sync with Wallet makes it so useful I also use the sports app when I play ping pong which is all the time. The app keeps track of my heart rate, I like to check after an intense game I also have a Peloton and it syncs with my watch to show my heart rate on the screen which is nice I love being informed if I have a message Same with phone calls, I don't always have my iPhone with me in the house Everyone I know that has a Watch loves and depends on it Mine is probably at least three years old. Maybe older. The battery is fine, works like new, I will keep it until they come out with a Blood Pressure monitor or another killer app

NFLX decapitated after hours on a loss in subscribers. Analysts were predicting 2.5M new subscribers (whoops!).
they say it’s partly as a result of increased success of streaming competitors… so of course the other streamers are down after hours too - make that make sense.

Tesla and Mercedes make sense, with the combination of a higher price tag and many people feeling it is luxury, but also the conformational bias around making a big purchase. It's like the Ford and Chevy stickers, but at a mostly higher price point. Android is similar to the iPhone of now, or the Apple of the past. It's the supercomputer in your pocket, and you feel you made a good decision by picking it. But the "Apple of the past" underdog feeling could also kick in, making a user even more passionate about it, especially if always having to defend their position. Sony surprises me some, but Sega even more. But this is worldwide. Trader Joes is a religion. Costco and Amazon must be close on the coattails, but it says they looked at 600 companies worldwide this time around, so they can't all make it into the top 10.

Currently down 25%. Without taking into account earnings, that would drop their P/E from 31 (wow, it used to be huge) to about 23. After topping out at 700.99 in the fall, the AH closing price of 258.90 makes for a 63% decline from the peak. This video/article says 61% of people say streaming services cost too much. finance.yahoo.com/video/streaming-61-viewers-believe-subscriptions-211336814.htmlApple's is the lowest cost of all of them, so it should be well protected, while they could do like amazon and include it with more things. I think they do, but we just don't watch much TV, so aren't the ones in tune with these things.

Really appreciate seeing the actual ratings, 4aapl. I would never have guessed so. Love your post as well ! ! Thanks !
Trader Joe's is a bit of a religion. Sony's rep really is from the past, where it was the king (along with Disney).
