Don't agree with Apple taking a position on abortion. They can provide health care in silence and say it is what the employees want. Why piss off the most passionate people in the electorate? I don't get this urge to act self righteous.

I don't get this urge to act self righteous. Agreed generally, but the only statement I saw was that they will pay for employees to travel to get abortions. Aaand they were promptly rewarded by being threatened by Democrat lawmakers over data collection. My real concern will be if Apple starts playing the state boycott game. Because at the end of a pissing contest, all of us are wet.

I don't get this urge to act self righteous. All these companies are being ridiculous. If they want to offer such a benefit, they should simply have a policy that states "any medical service that can't reasonably be provided within 100 miles from the employees home will include coverage of travel expenses related to treatment and recovery of that service." End of story. No politics involved.

The argument is Shareholder vs Stakeholder. I've already expressed my view on the Tim Cook, The Activist thread.

Wanted to drop in and say hi. After a recent trip of poker playing and debauchery in Vegas, got home and promptly tested positive for Covid. After dodging many direct hits. Not a lot of fun, but pretty much Ok now, after a week. Maybe due to being double boosted.

Sorry to hear that Lstream and glad that we came through the ordeal okay. My wife and I went through it last September for a little over a week and it was rough. Strangely I’ve lost some of my sense of smell and taste to this day, which I’m told is not very unusual, but should return after a year.

Sorry to hear about the taste and smell. That has not happened to me. My son experienced it though. For about 6 months.

Just throwing this out there: 1. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breitbart_NewsBreitbart News Network (known commonly as Breitbart News, Breitbart, or Breitbart.com) is an American far-right syndicated news, opinion and commentary website founded in mid-2007 by American conservative commentator Andrew Breitbart, who conceived it as "the Huffington Post of the right". Its journalists are widely considered to be ideologically driven, and much of its content has been called misogynistic, xenophobic, and racist by liberals and traditional conservatives alike. The site has published a number of conspiracy theories and intentionally misleading stories. Posts originating from the Breitbart News Facebook page are among the most widely shared political content on Facebook.

Just throwing this out there: 68% of Voters Say Corporations Should Not Take Public Stance on AbortionOr any other political stances for that matter! The second I posted this, I knew someone would make an ad hominem attack of the link without even reading the story that cites a Suffolk University/USA Today poll (notorious right wing newspaper ). Facts > your feewings.

Actually, I hate to counter what you *thought* you knew, but I *did* read the story before I responded...and if you're comfortable getting what you consider "facts" from Breitbart, I'm fine with that.

Facts > your feewings. Hard to convince anyone who might think USA Today is a rabid right wing site. Thanks for posting I was even surprised that the percentage was that high. The only reason these Corporations such as Apple do this is because they know that the Conservatives are a lot less likely to destroy or boycott their stores for disagreeing with them. It is never a good decision for businesses to take political stances. I wish Apple would take this to heart.

BTW, be sure to catch MSDNC tonight...should be interesting after today's witness testimony. Right, 70-something Donald Trump jumped into the front seat of the presidential limo and commandeered it and also assaulted a Secret Service agent. I 100% believe that, based on the credibility of Democrats and their Russia Russia Russia hearings ( WaPo reporter and MSDNC contributor calls it bullshit). Dems are going to get WIPED in November, and I will LOL when Dementia Joe is a lame duck for 2 years. Tick tock.
