Will be repealed on or about January 20, 2025. Yep, right after they repeal Obamacare and spring The Chosen One™ from prison… (Still, I have to admit that as much fun as whatever this oppositional incarnation we have now is, I miss the Republican Party. Maybe someday it will return…)

PED has 'We asked 631 Americans to pick their favorite smartphone brand'. The results were not surprising, but what caught my eye was “[samsung] is the only brand on the list that makes foldable smartphones, which is an emerging category in itself.” I have never had any interest in foldable smart phones, so I thought this would be a good group to query abut what attracts those who are. My guess would be the ability to have multiple sizes in a smaller package, but I would think that the bulk of the folded package would be clumsy and heavy. I also suspect that the “folds” would inevitably show wear over time. I would welcome more information from those who are positive on the concept, and even more from anyone who has hands-on experience with any of the early attempts. Of course, I have been lucky enough to afford devices of different sizes (thanks, AAPL!), which certainly has an effect on my feelings.

Pretty brutal article that popped up on my Charles Schwab news feed for AAPL:
Blood batteries are the new blood diamonds? The lithium and rare earth NIMBY conundrum ain't getting any easier. Musk and Bezos better get on that asteroid mining thing.
