$185 is only 7.5% away from the current ~172. Coming out of a recessionary dip is strange. It seems like often there is a big recovery off the bottom as things overcorrected to the low side on fear. But then, especially with recent memories of the dip and many backward looking statistics, getting all the way back to that recent high is tough. If looking at the recovery to 10% off the ATH, it can be pretty quick. But looking for a full recovery, it can take a while in most cases (2020 was pretty quick all around, due to fear, but then relief inflows and less spending on other things). AAPL has recovered better than most, but financially is also better than most. AAPL needs another 6% gain to high the ATH, whereas the S&P would need a 14% gain. But the Nasdaq? It needs a 27% to get back to the ATH! The Dow just needs a 9% gain. If the recent ATH's were the target for all, and all would make it there at relatively the same time, then dumping the things closer to the high and buying those further would be an easy choice. But it's not that easy, since the highs were probably a bit more euphoric on the Nasdaq front, and the larger more steady companies are likely to get back to "par" quicker, even if they don't gain as much on an overall percent basis. To me, it seems like there will be negative market and recession related news for a long time, along with some of the geopolitical worries. AAPL may get to and exceed its ATHs, but these headwinds will slow things down. A 7.5% annual gain might be a little conservative, but putting in a margin of safety, maybe that's expecting 10-12%. Given the recovery off the bottom, but the headwinds, 10-12% seems like a decent expectation in the coming year, not overly bullish or bearish. We'll see.

I found this pretty hilarious and telling. An app for making your Android phone look like an iPhone is "wildly popular!" www.cultofmac.com/788101/50-million-android-users-crave-that-sweet-ios-look/"So many people wish their Android was an iPhone that Launcher iOS 16 has been downloaded over 50 million times from Google Play. And a rival app has just as many." "With one of these applications and a full-body case, Android users can fool their coworkers or schoolmates into thinking they have an iPhone. At least until they start exchanging test [sic] messages."
