This has got to be the dumbest argument ever. "Apple has a feature that other brands' customers covet; ergo, Apple should give away that feature to the other companies." bUt ThAt'S cOnDeScEnDiNg.
Almost as dumb as, "Nice store you built there; you should let other companies sell their products in it for free."
How has Apple survived this long without the advice of this former marketing executive?

BTW, after debating with Gartenberg, he says I have mischaracterized his argument. OK, how about, "Apple users don't like the insecurity of texting Android users so...they will leave iOS and go to Android?"

What insecurity??? iPhone can send SMS like any other phone sends SMS. And statistics show that not many people leave iOS for Android, and the ones that do typically do so because of the cost of the device, not many due to the style of texting.
