Always nice to see green after opening a bullish position. Though it was a tiny position, talking myself down from opening something much bigger, I wrote some Jan '25 140 puts yesterday.
FWIW, the spread was large on them and the normal "trick" of trying at prices just more than halfway wasn't working. OTOH, it was fun to see other orders move with mine, repeatedly. I was in no rush, and this was only on 10-20, so a ten cent move was only $100-$200.
The OI on this was still below 1k, and this is a new issue, so that was part of it. The spread was normally about .6 on a ~$19 ask, though moving my order it could shrink to .2. This was over the last hour and a half of trading. I finally shrunk my order a little, and put it 15 cents within the bid, and it filled on a stock dip.
Nothing too exciting. I just decided I was willing to buy a few shares, in 2.3 years, at the equivalent of $121.
EDIT: FWIW, on Yahoo the volume/OI numbers look stale. On those 140's, "today's" volume of 22 was yesterdays, with the last trade time listed from yesterday. And yesterday there were some big volumes on some deep in the money puts (ie 270, 300), where today I see some of that in the "volume" but not in the OI. Maybe they were opened and then closed, but with chunks of 1k and 1.5k, it seemed like they were offsetting or opening for good. Not that it matters much, but if relying on the data, be sure to check a few places. Yahoo's might be messed up at the moment. OTOH, while watching on the iPhone yesterday in the Stock app, AAPL had a big blip up that was then showed in the chart, but then disappeared 10 seconds later. I don't know if it was an actual sale price, or just a blip in the data stream. Either way, nothing is always perfect.

Hmmmmm Apple is normally pretty quiet about rumors and plans, and we're getting into the post-quarter pre-earnings quiet period. Easy to make up rumors and throw them around. Maybe it is true. Maybe it is a technicality, like on the 14 but not the 14 pro. Rumors today seemed like that, with some positive, and some negative. The positive got more traction. We're in wild times. The best way might be to just sit back. If looking at short term, or playing the rumors, just don't get freaked out by unsubstantiated rumors. But things are twitchy, and will be until a recovery, which may or may not happen anytime soon.
