A few weeks ago, we discussed the new Jan '25 option chain when it arrived. And I think someone (4aapl?) mentioned that they entered some positions. As of yesterday I've joined you. Yesterday afternoon, I wrote some Jan '25 puts to begin my next set of LEAP positions. I only started with a little, if the stock continues down, I'll add more to the position. But like always, I figure buying stock anywhere under 150 in 2025 is very likely to be a rather good investment. So good that it is quite likely that they will expire worthless anyway. I will say though, that some of my recent (recent being over last 5 years) purchases of stock were purposely done via put options to get a somewhat better price than simply buying stock directly. It was Apple that gave me the idea, a few years ago, there was an article that they contracted with a large investment house to effect some of their share buyback using put options to get a better price. I think we discussed it back then.

He was somewhat quoting a line from the movie "Arthur" with Dudley Moore. The actual line in the movie is I believe: "I play tennis, I race cars, I fondle women ... BUT... I have weekends off and I am my own boss." No one seems to be able to take a joke anymore w/o someone being offended.

I was just making this point in class about the Harvard grad who was fired for making a joke (I think she's an idiot whom I probably disagree with on everything, but she was making a joke FFS). So much for tolerance. Too bad Blevins didn't say he liked men with large johnsons, and Apple might have promoted him. Most of corporate America changes their logos to rainbows during gay month. 🌈 But mention my hetero sexual predilections outside the workplace? You're fired!
I mean this with 100% sincerity and zero sarcasm.

Regarding Bank of America - how is changing from neutral to buy a downgrade? Surely that's an upgrade!

Depending on what you choose to believe, apparently here is some real data on iPhone 14 display bookings. I think Bloomberg and others are playing games, by painting iPhone 14 order shrinkage as a negative, when in fact the iPhone 14 Pro orders are more than taking up the slack. Which have higher f’ing margins!! What a load of crap. Plus, the iPhone 14 Max is not even shipping yet.

I am so thankful that I have retiredand don't go into an office. Anyone who was raised in the '40s and worked in the '50s and '60s, is a walking timebomb. It is hard to imagine that the world had changed this much. It's a better world, I am just not sure how to live in it. I especially have trouble with the "It's not what you said, it's what they heard" perspective. I keep coming back to the Chris Rock quote,"When did I become responsible for your self-esteem". I am sorry Apple lost him. I didn't post this for advice on how to become woke. I have a daughter who is a Smith graduate and believe me, I get it. But, man it's different out there.

Firing a guy for misquoting a movie or for quoting it is nonsense. Compare this to Deshaun Watson, a sexual predator, being rewarded for his behavior. Hard to be a Browns fan. We have entered an era of general insanity. Could be called the click bait society. Anything that makes certain groups feel good for a nanosecond is acceptable. Factionalism is the death of Democracy as the Founders foresaw.
Inflation is being caused by high energy prices. Maybe producing more energy would be a good idea instead of just raising rates. And taxing the nonsense Cryotos for using unbelievable amounts of energy. The Financial Times has an article about how the USA and GB are now poor country pie with a rich crust. Reagan started the third worlding of America. Now we see the completion. Dylan wrote a song called Sundown on the Union which chronicled this a generation ago.
Could not believe Thursday football was only on Amazon?
So do we break the lows next month? If this is the bottom it is a double bottom, another decline and we have to hope for a sharp move down and up without a retest.

" It's a better world, I am just not sure how to live in it." A world without humor that is cascading into a 1984 type social structure without free speech is not better IMHO. If those opinions are still allowed in this better world?

Regarding Bank of America - how is changing from neutral to buy a downgrade? Surely that's an upgrade! to neutral from buy I wish the stock analysts would write it the other way. FROM aaa TO bbb. I believe this way is more natural for most people. If you say from Buy to Neutral it's clear.

"AAPL daily RSI now below 30 for the first time since Feb 2021." If we get a double bottom in AAPL and more downside to the Dow it could challenge the housing crises low of 17.08. 128 gets closer by the tick.
