I’ve been thinking about the quote posted, maybe on Thursday, with guesses at lows for a bunch of stocks. AAPL’s guess was 100, so more than a 20% drop from here. But why? I can imagine ways to get there, both individually and market wide. There’s different probabilities/guesses, both shorter term and when looking something like 12 months out. It might happen. But in my mind the middle band of probable outcomes doesn’t have that. Instead, it seems like the run down attitude sometimes seen after enough negativity. Like being too bullish at the top, one can be too dour at the bottom. And then this story from Cody hits the same thing. stocks.apple.com/A7ooMbs3jRlK-ehCc9jW7AQPart is just we’re things are on the calendar. Our kids are still out of school for another day or two, we’ve seen the families, drove a lot, had and seen various sicknesses and recoveries, and had a few atmospheric rivers. It’s been a blur, and that is part of it. But that’s not all of it. It is the IDGAF feeling I mentioned last week, that Cody puts more elequently as apathy. How wide is this feeling? Hard to say. But a weekend thread of just an opener points to less interest at the moment, which isn’t necessarily bad. It will be interesting to see how this month goes. Always a strange time for aapl, as hope, rumors, and FUD duke it out while we wait for results. And there’s still the fed and the market as a whole. Fun times. But also a great time to take a break for a bit. Happy New Year!
