Good morning. Yes, that’s right, it’s Friday the 13th. But who’s being superstitious? We’re starting the day off with a red pre-market at -0.01% at this moment. But it’s early. Today’s events: Let’s see how Mr. Market reacts to these earnings reports. Apple CEO Cook's pay more dependent on stock performance in 2023I’ve also taken a pay cut. 40% is about right.

Ken Fisher often pointed out that the masses were normally wrong. If "everyone" thought the market was going to do something that year, it often didn't.
Other articles talk about this, of most people feeling something will happen, as already being priced into the market.
I don't know how it will work out this time. But often it doesn't take a full change of earnings to move the market. Instead it is anticipation, or investor sentiment if you will, that changes the P in P/E, especially since the E is trailing, whereas investors are most interested in upcoming earnings.
We'll see what happens. I have no problem with continued talk of a 10% drop while the market continues to slowly climb upwards. The market is still in vulnerable times, even if it is off the recent lows.
