Good morning and welcome to a new month. This month is starting with a green pre-market at +0.47% at this moment. What’s behind us is behind us, it’s time to look forward.

I don't mean to be snide, but when it comes to Windows and Chat GPT it is sooooo hard to not comment. A company that was founded and has thrived on vaporware incorporating a not-ready-for-primetime technology.....what could go wrong? One might pause and think for a minute that there was a moral responsibility to produce correct answers, but on the other hand, Microsoft. I wish they at least had the decency to wait until Apple solves the problem and then just steal it. Did they learn nothing from Android and Google?
this feels like "The Revenge of Clippy". I remember an old joke about a helicopter lost in the fog in Seattle when suddenly they hit a clear patch and see a tall black skyscraper. they fly close and hold up a hastily written sign to the people in the window. The sign says "Where am I". The people work feverishly for a few minutes before responding. "You are in a helicopter". The pilot immediately knows it is the Microsoft building and they are saved. If you got this joke, you understand my concern about coupling these two abominations.

But this quote is the one that I thought was really amazing: But then again, the Chinese people are accustomed to being lied to so why would they ever believe a A.I. chatbot?

Just a thought: Aren't the miracle bots that answer questions just search engines with a little additional programming so they formaT WHAT they find in the form of an answer to a question which they interpret as an instruction to find?

Just a thought: Aren't the miracle bots that answer questions just search engines with a little additional programming so they formaT WHAT they find in the form of an answer to a question which they interpret as an instruction to find? I have the same question. I just see the "miracle" as just a different syntax. That is, just a wordy version of a simple input to a search engine. For example, now typing. "When is the next UT basketball game on?" instead of "UT basketball schedule" Either one works. This is a major improvement, but not a miracle. Voice recognition, though, has vastly improved. For me, it is stunning ! It is so good at recognizing so many words, including some very uncommon ones. And when the input is done, the interpretation can be adjusted to better fit what was meant.
