I get the feeling that APPL wants to make a move up. I have no basis for this, just a gut feeling

I get the feeling that APPL wants to make a move up. I have no basis for this, just a gut feeling I agree as long as the market continues to rally or at least hangs in there, aapl could see 175 in the next two or three weeks imo. Side note regarding Needham's Laura Martin saying Apple should buy Disney this morning. Josh Brown's take on CNBC was the chance of it happening was next to zero and 'It sounds like a fever dream or that edibles were involved' too funny.

The RSI is at 65.54 so there’s still some room to move higher.

The problem is that if Apple were a normal company with a normal focus and a normal size, some of these things could be synergistic. The relatives are visiting for their spring break, and had to bring in all the snacks from their cars to avoid break-ins by bears, even potentially this time of the year and with this much snow. In one bag there was the Gordino's classic snack. In another, a Chex mix with bagel bites. They are very similar...and it turns out both are from General Mills, with the "give to schools" logo. If they weren't owned by the same parent company, they would be competitors, along with potential lawsuits involved. But Apple is already huge, with people just searching for antitrust issues due to its size. Apple already has a lot of synergistic things, so doesn't really need side projects that aren't part of its focus. And Disney is already a strange company, with multiple reaches. Maybe it makes sense for the animation or the movie maker or the movie library. For the Disney channel, along with other channels (Discovery, and isn't ESPN involved now?). But in most cases Apple seems to like to buy small and focused companies, so they don't have to figure out what to do with the amusement parks or something like that. But the antitrust issue is key too. Maybe if they were down at the 30th or even 50th largest company. But near or at the top, too many people see that as a target. It's the opposite of "too big to fail", instead expecting there are problems, and that they should pay up. And while the easy thing would be to blame that on just a couple politicians, it's wider than that.

If anything buy ESPN. Turn it back into a sports channel. Too much silly opinion shows. And let Disney fight the Woke battles. Or sell it to someone who wants to carry that torch. I do find it amusing that Disney had fascist roots and now is the #1 Wokee corp. I wonder if people see parallels between the Wokes, the so-called social justice movement and the current environmental movement and Disney's roots? These people all want to control what others think and say and do. Apologies if that is one of your groups and causes. However living near Berkeley I see people who want to impose their will on others in the name of some cause or other. Like charging a quarter for a coffee cup at a coffee shop. BYO? That won't change the world. It just aggravates some and is a regressive tax. etc.
My view is Apple should only have an interest in ESPN. The considerable library of Disney films might have a price where it is of interest as well. But avoid the culture wars.

Fed CPI data Friday will move the markets. No doubt one way or the other. 165 is Max Pain for next 3 weeks. General holding pattern until Fed data sparks a surge one way or the other. A move up to 169 or so before a pull back would be very good.

I don't agree with the theory that Disney is engaging in culture wars (it is not), but I would agree that merging Apple and Disney does not make sense. Also, what does woke mean?

However living near Berkeley I see people who want to impose their will on others in the name of some cause or other. Like charging a quarter for a coffee cup at a coffee shop. BYO? That won't change the world. It just aggravates some and is a regressive tax. etc. This isn't new. There is a real cost to providing a disposable, and then there is an overall perceived cost. But places have done this for ages. AM/PM, a little over 30 years ago, had 32 oz slurpee fill-ups for 29 cents, if you brought in their fluorescent lime green cup that you bought for a buck or so. This was one of the perks as a kid, volunteering at a popup library during the summer, a block away. The paid staff would pony up 29 cents for us kids. Ahhh, the colors and contents would kill people these days. Is that even still legal in CA, where Nerds are about to be banned from Red #5? The municipal airport in Cody WY has a cafe that mostly deals in crepes and coffee. You can buy a mug, hang it there, and then get cheap refills anytime you fly in. And some stores even give you a few cents back when you bring in a bag. I went into Winco today, where they normally give a nickel a bag, and asked the guy about it since I hadn't seen an option in the self checkout. He said their store was ending that tomorrow. This is NV, so we can still pick paper or plastic, but they try to scrape any margin by that they can, having you self-bag, and not allowing credit cards due to their fee. I'm surprised they don't still keep an incentive, as even a penny would be enough to remind someone to use a bag. Sometimes it's just that little gentle reminder. While I took the big truck, I had a few bags shoved in a door, so took them in. Fun times. We have some of the best municipal water in the country, and "Drink Tahoe Tap" stickers abound. Why drink bottled water, if our tap is better? And then the relatives arrive with their Kirkland disposable bottles of water, and quickly our house is littered with half full bottles that no one could differentiate. Costco is one to slowly and steadily push an agenda. I bet they might be up for different colored packaging in a flat, as long as there isn't a cost increase. That could help. Even if they have to skip red #5, or whatever stopped the Irish Butter from being available in CA for a few months.
