I can see us closing at $172.50, to render the >16,000 contracts worthless.

I can see us closing at $172.50, to render the >16,000 contracts worthless. Is that all it takes to set the market these days? That sounds incredibly small, but it is just a weekly. Much larger OI below that on the puts, and above that on the calls, so it all works together. I was hoping for a bit more of an upward surge in AAPL, instead of just a 1 day post earnings jump where half was canceling the previous day's drop. But the market is still in this middle ground, and AAPL is too. Maybe there will be some pre-WWDC excitement?

So does anyone else think it's odd that the Current iPhone is the 14 and presumably come Sept. there will be an iPhone 15 in all its variations and yet the Drumbeats have already started for the 16? (particularly on macrumors.com ).

Sometimes, I wonder if it's the competition trying to stop people from buying the current models to get people to think "maybe I should wait".

This is also a by-product of page hits generating revenue. People make stuff up in the name of page hits. There are no negative consequences to posting total junk. People keep coming back for more.

More of the same. A plateau usually ends with the market going down. After the Bear success of 2022, they want more. Bulls need the Fed to shut up and stop the bank crises.
There more I think about it the more I would like a foldable or even flip phone with the 4s footprint.

Maybe a sign of normalizing. Sell on Friday and buy back on Monday after seeing about the bank crises or more wars over the weekend?

Always had my doubts. Disney is going lower because of streaming services which suddenly everyone has one. Streaming sites, AMC has AMC+ like all cable channels now have a channel plus a plus, but Disney has HULU, Disney +, ESPN Star, Premium etc.. How many-4 Disney at least plus Hulu. There are just too many. Apple needs to think about this. Buy Netflix or make it a free service and buy as much content as you can get.

Selling near-term covered calls after a significant move up continues to work so far this year. So far satisfied with the slow grinding move upwards/sideways.

Really amazing how the invisible hand works... Some folks have those glasses which render the invisible visible.

Analysts are kind of weird. How do they justify a consensus of "strong" buy for something they think will only go up by about 5% over a year? Do they also think Treasury Bills are a strong buy because they will go up 5% over a year? And what do they call a plain "buy"?

Do they also think Treasury Bills are a strong buy because they will go up 5% over a year? And what do they call a plain "buy"? I'd guess that the "strong buy" and price targets were set when the share price was lower. If they were putting out something like an average of 185 (before averaging take out the ones below market), back when the stock was in the 140-160 range, I can see that as a strong buy. Especially if compared to the other options out there.
