Good Morning,
Let's try this again...APPL is up in Pre-Market at $194.75 (+1.53 or +.79%). Let's hope it does better today. Also, just 5 more trading days until quarterly earnings release.

How will weekly options play in to today's close?
There are 37K Call @ $195 currently valued at 32¢ (just out of the money) There are 25.5K Puts @ $195 currently valued at $2.05 (in the money)
Will we see the Puts drag AAPL up towards $195?
AAPL RSI is currently at 60.0.

"This is a quick notice that My Photo Stream has now been officially shut down. For more information on this transition, read Information about the My Photo Stream shutdown." To avoid the ludicrous "storage fees" in the cloud for your photos, you can have the main iPhoto library on your MAC. You can create a small System iPhoto library for syncing pictures taken with the phone. Then you can move the good ones to the desktop and import them to the main library the next time you use it. This involves switching libraries which is option double click on iPhotos.
Saves 10 a month for those with large libraries.
Of course you have a home back up. I like the fireproof vaults.

But how do you make it auto-sync from the iPhone all the time? I have to say, I like most of Apple's software, but the way they handle photos is mystifying to me. I want it to ALWAYS sync from my iPhone. Whenever I am home on same network, I want the Mac to copy all new photos from my iPhone. That way all my photos reside on my mac and automatically get updated via time machine every hour.

Of course you have a home back up. I like the fireproof vaults. Fireproof vaults may not save you. It will save paper, but electronics will be damaged by the heat. I'd recommend a cloud based backup solution. I use backblaze.com

The backup will work for me in most cases. I already lost everything in the Oakland Firestorm in 1991 including my dog, so I don't give a shit. It can all be replaced except the dog. But a backup is convenient. I lost all my financial stuff in Quicken when their update last year or a couple years ago, duplicated and deleted various transactions. Unfortunately the backup came unplugged so I had to start the Quicken transactions over. BFD. Apple ought to make a better financial program. I really don't like quicken or any of the alternatives.
More important, the Chinese stocks looks like they are rising finally. Talk about a Panda "Bear" market! XPEV looks good. The semis are doing great, I just bought the ETF. And Berkshire the Apple plus stock is doing well, moved from 290+ to 350 this year.

If something Autosyncs you don't have to make it do so, perforce. All the photos sync on all devices now and are kept in the so called cloud if you pay the monthly appropriate to your library.
Before this system you had to swipe up on the iPhone and manually close all programs including photos and Camera, and then open the camera and take another picture of your keyboard or something to "force" it to automatically sync. Yes Apple has had a hard time with this sync stuff over the years. Of course all the right boxes have to be checked or un checked on all devices as well. You have to go to apple support for that or one of the support sites. Too long.

I was gratified to see a duckpins bowling reference on the Honeymooners last night. Way more fun than 10 pins, don't know why it fell out of favor with the masses. But ten pins, the scores are higher.

We're inching ever closer to the next Big Number. The economy is strong, inflation is coming down, and it's looking more and more likely the soft landing is within reach. Have a great weekend everyone. I'm off to Boston and Bar Harbor for August for some water time. Cheers to the longs : )

I'd recommend a cloud based backup solution. I use backblaze.com Another solution, with lower costs but not as automated, is to go with an offsite backup. Once in a while, about once a year, by parents give me a jump drive with all of their photos or other stuff that is most important (photos are one of those things that seem important and it sucks to lose, but if you never look at them again then...). A cloud based backup is easiest, and Apple's rate is now so low (even if personally I haven't bought it), but a jump drive is cheap. You can encrypt it if you want, and leave it with a friend, relative, or even at work. Normally I don't bother, but on a few longer trips I've brought a jump drive with us, or even a HD. I don't have too much on-site data that really matters in the bigger picture (see Duck's Dog note), but a few trust/legal things that I'd rather not get screwed up, even if we had a wildfire that took out the town.

I've actually lost 2 drives (Seagate) in the last couple of years. I was able to download everything on the drives (Terabytes worth). As long as you have a back up plan that you're happy with, that's great.
