TD Cowen raises AAPL target to $220 as iPhone demand in China, India growsI hadn't heard of TD Cowen before. Turn out they are a division of TD Bank. (for those that don't know, TD stands for Toronto Dominion. I remember walking down the street downtown Toronto, and hearing a couple of Americans visiting the city surprised. "Hey, they have TD Bank here". They were down the street from the head office for TD Bank)

As a reminder we are still looking for people to open a day or two of the daily thread. aapl is opening on Tuesday/Thursday, and CdnPhoto is opening one of the remaining days.
It's pretty easy to start the thread. And then ideally remember to edit the post after market closing to put the stats for the day into the subject, though a couple of us can edit the post if someone accidentally forgets.
Any member can open the daily thread, though ideally we would get a person or two to pick specific days they are going to do it. And if you know you are going to be away, we have some people that can temporarily fill in.
It seems like we have a little bit of an uptick in activity lately. ATH's and approaching earnings does often do that. But we also have the choice to switch to a weekly thread instead, if that would be a better fit. It's an option to consider, depending on the amount of posts and number of volunteers we have.
Let me or the group know if you are interested in opening the daily thread.
Thanks

ANET HAS GREAT EARNINGS. It is up big today and is an AI-Cloud related stock, though can't tell you how. The earnings show a steady increase. The PE is below 30. This could be a good spec stock or fundamental one, unfortunately I am not that tech savvy. Can't tell the difference between, Cisco, Salesforce and these guys? There are ANET apps in the app store. Anyone know anything about this co.?

Apple might save even more lives if it didn't allow the iPhone to unlock when the person holding it was driving. Recent stories have places like the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, and a NP in Texas going through a similar thing. They've had heat related deaths on trails when people went out in the heat, but don't feel they can shut down the trails during heat waves, though they can shut them down when unsafe for other things like rock slides, storms, or ice. A small local ski resort (Homewood) recently had "Common Sense" as one of the things they were looking for with a new resort director. I got a kick out of that. But more and more I realize that we all have problems or issues. Not the same ones, and potentially a varying number of them. But issues none the less. Some day self-driving cars will really help us out, bringing down the number of crashes, injuries, and deaths. But this middle ground, where there is some aid from the car but it can't do everything, could be great but probably also will get people to put too much hope in the car's abilities. And we here this from time to time, normally with Teslas, including the Apple engineer that knew the car always had trouble in this one spot, and a more recent one where someone tied weights to the steering wheel to make it think the person had a hold of the wheel. But though those make the news, hopefully they remain the rare edge case, and driving aids do aid us faster than we count on them and get distracted. There's that whole common sense thing again.

But at what point does someone become responsible for their own actions? A great philosopher once said “Stupid is as stupid does “. Maybe it’s just evolutions way of weeding out the gene pool.
