Hopefully we can get into and hold the $180’s the rest of this week and into the new month. I’ve gotten tired of this neighborhood.

Ah, maybe the $200 extra is for the pro max with that fancy periscope camera lens. That’s frustrating. I will not get the giant max size as it’s so uncomfortable to hold / pocket. Steve used to tout one handed operation. We’ve long since moved past that but to restrict the best features to a specific size and not trim Level (pro) of phone frustrates me. Maybe I’ll get to stay at the $999 price point, but one reason I go pro is for the cameras. First world problems I know. Just a comment.

Weeee (Mini Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee)
But then we’re just riding the market up. ..At least we’re not tied to a rock.
With any luck it’s all up hill from here and the 15 is out of the ball park.
On iPads, I just got my self a new iPad Pro a few weeks ago to replace a 1st gen iPad Pro, that’s still going strong. In fact the only reason I got the new one is to get a 2nd gen pencil. Otherwise I would still use the thing. In the end I mainly used it for media consumption and as a side car for tool palettes but serves a purpose. Admittedly I replaced the screen, a few years back, after foolishly thinking transporting it in my hockey bag was a good idea… but it still works fine including the battery. I bought it, pretty much when it came out, that would make it late 2015, and over 7.5 years old. Apart from a cheese grater Mac Pro that lasted a reliable 13 years I’d have to say this is the best value Apple product I have ever bought.
Worst Apple product? Probably the Performer 6400. Not much of a performer. Clunky and butt ugly.
Favourite Apple product? I’m going to say the Pismo. The PowerBook G3 FireWire. I probably had the greatest emotional connection with that computer. So good to carry and still looks good. It has aged well.

I know that one or a few of you have known ’s interest in Globalstar. GSAT was up nearly 23% today on news. I used to have a position and invested back in a year or so ago.
News excerpts…
Globalstar Inc GSAT shares are trading higher Tuesday after the company appointed Paul Jacobs to CEO and announced an agreement to license for XCOM Labs technology.
What To Know: Jacobs is the founder and CEO of XCOM Labs, as well as the former executive chairman and CEO of Qualcomm Inc QCOM. He will replace David Kagan, who is set to retire from his role.
In connection with the management change, Globalstar entered into a strategic perpetual licensing agreement for exclusive access to certain key XCOM technologies and personnel. The agreement covers several technologies for wireless spectrum innovation.

Thanks for posting that Macster I had not seen it, my wife bought a 1K or 2K shares of that a few years back on the advice of one of her coworkers over the investment department at the bank she worked at, and she has threatened to sell it as it has never been up much or if it was it was brief. I told her you don't have enough money in it to worry about so just hold it and maybe? Paul Jacobs is the ex CEO of Qualcomm as the article said and well known in the so called tech world, so something good may come of this. I owned Qualcomm when his Dad was the CEO and it was my biggest 1 day gain (at the time) on a stock when it went up $165, I believe on 12/29/99. It was in a 401K so that money is helping support me today. I am tempted to buy more GSAT in my account but I have all my cash in layered CD's at present.

I can't imagine a $1200-$1700 phone being the best-selling model. There simply aren't enough people that would spend that much on their phone. Keep in mind that 80+% of teens in the USA choose iPhone!

I can't imagine a $1200-$1700 phone being the best-selling model. There simply aren't enough people that would spend that much on their phone. Keep in mind that 80+% of teens in the USA choose iPhone! A lot of phone plans are back to giving an upfront discount or trade-in, and then an interest free loan over the course of the contract. With Verizon and I think AT&T, that's 36 months. So with a little upfront trade-in boost ($400), that $1700 changes to $36.11 a month for 36 months. With T-mobile we got $800 trade-ins for phones up to about 3 years old. They are sneaky about it, giving part upfront, and part on that monthly basis. But they base it over only 24 months. $1200 with $200 upfront and $600 spread out makes it only $16.67/month. I don't know the distribution of iPhone models with kids. Offhand I wouldn't think most of them would have Pro models, but I don't know. Our son wanted the 14, and was willing to pay the $400 difference from his SE3 with money he made at his restaurant job. But just like with cars for kids, it's probably pretty rare that a kid pays in full for his iPhone. Even so, spread it out over 24-36 months, with or without a trade-in, and it becomes much more manageable. Especially if it's one of the things they value the most.
