A little bit of green to brighten up your day wit AAPL loitering around $188.5 in the pre market. And it must be a quiet news day with stories like this one Apple car speculatiomI’m jumping on a aeroplane tomorrow to head for the top side of this little blue marble. If I don’t tidy up this thread with the closing price… apologies in advance.

I'm thinking that today is the day that we break back into the $190's, again.

Horace Dediu has some interesting data in Predicting Apple Services. There can be no doubt that the strong move into services has been the fuel for Apple’s explosive growth, and that it will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Once again, I say “Thanks, Tim.”

It's September 1st, and we're back to being ad-free for those that log in (hint hint).
I added a new group with a tiny bit of flair for those that have started the daily or weekend thread. "It doesn't get much better than this!" Sadly it doesn't look like Moderators get to show off their red name and pair of red stars.
And when mucking around with the Rank system, it looks like things got screwed up, so for some users you now see "Blank Rank". Support should be able to help us.
Still in the green while the indexed have changed to red, but today might not be the day AAPL gets back into the 190's.

200 is the kind of round number that the Gonsteh Machers like to pivot around. Sept. being one of the worst months for the market along with Aug. makes me think that a march to 200 and a retreat to the former supports lines might be on the way? DISney is really falling off the charts. Don't think it's just streaming. There sports on ESPN live have uniformly terrible announcers and a good one is the acceptation. Their political agenda is obvious. I think this is a warning Tim Cook and the Apple leaders should pay some attention to. The whole of the US is not NYC, LA and SF. If Apple were to buy ESPN would they be catching a falling knife? The Tennis coverage of the US Open is peculiar. ESPN has many channels and can stream live matches. Yet few matches are covered. These are mostly Americans. Iga has gotten almost no screen time as of yet. Strikes me as odd when there are so many screens available.
At any rate if Apple buys, interesting announcers like Bill Walton and Mark Jackson might punch the ratings. Plus showing more matches and games on the various channels instead of marching bands and pillow fights.
I'd like to see Apple look into this at least. If Disney keeps falling they could buy the whole enchilada which would ironically make Steve's widow a major share holder-as she owns so much disney. But they would have to make some strategic changes.

You mean not wanting DeSantis's war on LGBTQ people? Or was there something else? While the whole country isn't SF, NY or LA, the majority of the country believes in American freedom to make decisions about medicine, abortion, sexuality, etc. on our own without government interference or other's religious beliefs imposed, while also treating every one as equal. That's an American agenda.

If Disney keeps falling they could buy the whole enchilada which would ironically make Steve's widow a major share holder-as she owns so much disney. But they would have to make some strategic changes. Live TV must be a strange beast. You don't know if the game/match/event is going to be any good. You might expect it to be, or be a big fan so it will always be important to see, but you don't have a rating system that can tell you with confidence that it's one of three to watch during the season because it came down to the final kick in overtime, or whatever. Whereas after the fact when looking at the whole season, it's more like a sitcom that there were some developments, but maybe a few of the episodes weren't worth watching if you don't have time or interest to see them all. In a way that is like Apple and AAPL news. Sure, there are some big things that come out, big product changing news. But the day to day, especially when it is rumors, ends up not meaning much when looking back a month, a quarter, or a year later. There are so many old shows and movies available now. But how many are worth watching, or worth rewatching? It is very rare that I watch a movie with an IMDB score below 6, and am happy with the decision. Another change over the years is that more seasons seem like a mini-series, though maybe it depends more on what you choose to watch. Yellowstone, and 1873/1923, seem more like it. But it's probably a combination of how I consume it and the series itself. A time based storyline that builds likely seems more like a mini-series, though it could even be me basing my ideas of a mini-series on Band of Brothers. As for Disney as a whole, I could see Apple being interested in the library and the production side of things, if they want to greatly expand things on those fronts. But like was said a week or two ago, there's the whole corporate culture thing. One thing to look at would be how Pixar stayed unique or integrated over the years. But I'm sure Apple is much more set to make this decision than any pundit or this backseat driver could.

I see 4aapl got a black star…. Ominous And I see some of us lost a star and are now labeled ‘pyromaniacs’ Most people lost 2 stars, but some gained one back. CdnPhoto suggested the name "fire starter", so I just went with it. And I was only going to go back 1 month, but Dave started the threads for so long that I went back further to include him. Yep, playing around with things, and trying to figure out the way proboards chooses to do things. It's mostly just stacked ways to do things, but until you know all of the levels it can be confusing. It seems we actually hit a bug with the "Blank Rank" thing, but with it not being that huge of a deal and the coming long weekend, it might take a while to be fixed. I'm thinking it's a database entry thing, but that's just a guess without being able to see all of the levels behind the curtain. Nice to still have a buck of green. Hopefully these last 10 minutes won't be like yesterday's last 10 minutes.

I see some of us lost a star and are now labeled ‘pyromaniacs’ But I have brain damage and I demand acknowledgment ! edit: On second thought, it looks like I'm labeled "Blank Rank" . . . I'm happy with that, carry on.
