Good Morning, Apple is currently at 172.533 and slightly green. It is Fall in Minnesota. Fall started today at 5:00 AM and is scheduled to last until this afternoon at 4:30 PM at which time I can stop raking leaves and watch it snow. I am beginning to like the snow, It fills the potholes. For those in a warmer clime, count your blessings and let's make some money

Filling potholes without the headache of construction? Lucky duck! While they've been on a multiyear project to repave our highways, the current 30 minute delays each way to go to the town normally 10 minutes away is tough.
The flowers in our yard have just started their belated blooming after a late snowmelt. But I see decent sized Apples on some of the trees along the road that I know of. I'm sure the good sized bear walking by the other day knows of them too, so they must not be ripe or just don't compare to a nice chocolate cake from someone's trash.
If near Cupertino, there are some good Apple trees outside some of the old campus, like right there on De Anza blvd along the sidewalk in front of DA 6. I'd guess that the leaves aren't changing there yet, but this weekend's colder storm might get the process started.

Ahhh, the Fall season. Along with Bud's self-filling pot holes, and new iPhones, come the expected "-gate" threats of people finding any fault that they can in the new iPhones (while getting a little bit of press attention at the same time). This time, the first out the door is "Hot!". And while the article is mostly about the iPhone heating up when fast charging (FWIW, just like I've seen on previous iPhones. It's that whole "throwing a lot of energy at the iPhone while in the 20-80% battery range and battery chemistry" thing), it also gives a couple people that have seen it heat up when gaming, or even when just going some testing for a long time. And what's this temperature? 46.7C. Oh my, that sounds like it might be a lot for those of us not used to looking at Celsius temps. But the calculator converts that into 116.6F, less than many summer days in Phoenix. Heat transfer and perceived temperature depend on the materials, so warm or cool tile or granite feels a lot different than carpet or wood at the same temperature. Or metal vs plastic and glass. My guess is that sub-120F is considered normal and within the spec range, but we'll see if this gets any traction. I normally try to not give some of these pieces extra page views, but here is the one off of Yahoo in case you want more details. finance.yahoo.com/news/iphone-15-overheating-issue-makes-095743522.html

Judging from the amount of ink/pixels on Macrumors.com the first "Gate" of the Fall season is upon us:"Wovengate" In derision of the new material that ļ£æ replaced leather cases with... Based on some photos, assuming they are real photos (with AI and photoshop, anything is possible nowadays), there really does appear to be some misalignment issues, and some USB-C connector fitting issues with those new cases. If any of it is true, it feels very "non Apple" to me, because they are usually quite meticulous with everything, but especially with fit and finish related things.

To give some texture to the heat gate and suede gate, Noreve makes fines cases with elegant fabrics. No need to reinvent the wheel. Noreve has a Vegan leather and a fake suede that are elegant. Their leather is the best. Just buy the company or liscense the product needed. Heat gate could be a problem if it continues to fester and burn below the surface. Still don't get the titanium...tennis rackets first now the phone?
Someone who owns the Weather has offered 10 billion for Disney. DIS finally broke 80 and is kissing the Princess at the covid low. What's next? Apple ought to see what Disney wants for the TV stations and films.Maybe DIS goes back to theme parks and films for kids.
Berkshire is down. Just bounced maybe turnaround Wednesday?

How about another thermogate? Heard this before.javascript:openSpellCheck(); My gut, from reading today on Twitter, is that the heat issues may be app related (Instagram and/ or Facebook as the culprit). Or at least some of them. The constant chatter and speculation and posts that sound āknowledgeableā saying itās the titanium and aluminum frame, they donāt dissipate heat as well; and/or the processor being clocked too high; donāt make any sense. Appleās the the best at this, they wouldnāt have a design flaw like this in a new iPhone model, which theyāve had months and months to test. If this was true, all iPhone 15s would have heat problems. They donāt. The more likely reason is certain apps in certain configurations doing this. There are also the reports of excessive heat while charging - again, a design flaw doesnāt seem possible, otherwise all units would be affected. I havenāt seen a hint of any of this either mine. Could there be a bad batch? A limited hardware defect? Apple should be running this one down and examining these units, but no word of it. Also, the reports on Twitter of āmanyā iPhone 15ās. How many are there in a āmanyā? Thereās been no attempt I can see to count any of this in a meaningful way, other than ad hoc posts on social media.

As far as āfine wovenā, thatās a different kind of fail and an obvious one. Who thought this was a good idea? Easy fingernail scratchability seems massively dumb. The leather cases would scratch too with a light fingernail scuffing (I just tried this) but then moistening and wiping it off makes it go away. Deeper scratches would stay, but not even close to measuring up to the thing youāre replacing, at the same premium price, is a mistake.
