Services in 2024 are going way higher when Apple gets Vision Pro onto people's heads and some hefty subscription plans ($300/month?) roll out for 'NBA Courtside' for select games during this season and maybe for all of the playoffs. Only then will the market wake up to what's coming for immersive watching of live sports and concerts in your own home.

The possibilities and the UI look incredible. The hardware, OTOH, just doesn't feel like a truly Apple product. Needs some iterating. Im sure it can get there tho. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm curious: what about the AVP doesn't "feel like a truly Apple product" to you? 🤔

" I'm curious: what about the AVP doesn't "feel like a truly Apple product" to you?" Well if it is only for watching and not creating...or if its appeal is only to gamers and soccer fans I'd say that. Let's hope necessary apps like controlling the drone wars, medical uses and spying around corners and out of foxholes arrive quickly. Maybe hook it into a telescope in space. That would be illuminating the universe for students and phtographers.

Zone of silence on the board? Interesting day, big techs are moving up. Maybe starting to find a bottom ready for a move up. Most big AI stocks doing well. NVDA may be the canary now. AVGO as well. Our friends at Berkshire suffered a little sell off after a substantial move. Those 3 are good stocks. Curiously TSLA calls are better to sell than AVGO's though that stock cost 4 times as much? telling Tesla covered calls is a good business.

So, as an architect myself, I can't wait to get my hands on one of these (assuming the the software I use goes down that path). And I think for the high end niche this is an amazing product with incredible possibilities and a great GUI - an everywhere display. It will transform 3D visualisation, modelling and BIM. It will be liberating to build a digital twin with embedded information and not have to produce a set of documentation to explain the concept (what you in North America quaintly call 'the blueprints'). The possibilities for design collaboration, augmentation, design conformance verification and so many other aspects in my field will be transformative. However, I am not convince the Vision hardware is ready for the masses and it feels a little rushed for Apple. I do realise that when the iPhone was first showcased it was a buggy prototype that was layered with innovation (the combination of existing things in new and novel ways). So Apple has done this before. But when the iPhone was previewed, it felt somehow complete - a perfect synthesis of Apple reductivism - no keyboard, no pen - a tabula rasa. The headset, formally, IMO, is a disparate collection of parts that is redolent of an industrial design student's final year project - a cacophony of ideas. And it has to have a tethered battery to operate. In my mind if feels like the software is way ahead of the hardware. This is my concern Ted. But it is obviously an incredibly complex platform and kudos to Apple for where they've got to.

I'll be happy with just a modest beat.

But it is obviously an incredibly complex platform and kudos to Apple for where they've got to. I work in film and the whole idea of immersive content is one of those lofty ambitions that have been pursued since the early days of '3D' movies. I think it's fair to say it's never been fully realized. And even though I remain quite leery of wearing something attached to my face, I'm more than willing to give Apple the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the user experience. If the early reviews are to be believed (and I think they are) this is a product leaps and bounds ahead of the other players. Mass adoption will certainly not happen at the rate of the iPhone, but I'm comfortable letting Apple refine and improve over the coming years until the AVP is every bit as magical as it's potential.

If done with that intent it could be very useful to those with various disabilities. Possibly unlock a lot of talent that way!
