Apple's showing a little red in the premarkets: 182.47 -$0.42 (-0.23%) Ben Bajarin at Creative Strategies has an interesting post on what's possible with the new M3 Macs for local aka 'edge' computing of AI models.

There's a story of Woz being hospitalized in Mexico City after fainting. www.cnn.com/2023/11/09/tech/apple-cofounder-steve-wozniak-hospitalized-intl-hnk/index.htmlHe's an interesting guy in an interesting position. I don't think he is the best for giving stock thoughts or even deciding if a new iPhone is any good (I believe he was asked about these things in the past). But I'm finally seeing the light on networking and really just a wide knowledge base to grab associations from. When Woz talked at our local college, most of the talk was about his history, especially at Apple. But he had a variety of activities afterwards, from teaching, to continuing to tinker on his own and with World of Zeus.

If I was a trader spanning multiple years selling in the RSI 70’s, buying in the RSI low 40/50’s I’d be a billionaire. I should have set aside a portion of my balance at least to use as play money for exactly that and still sleep at night. Requires patience which I lack. But then I’m not that greedy to desire a home in Tahoe, New Hampshire, Montana, Utah, Colorado or Florida. Kidding… I was really expecting to see an 'and' in that statement instead of an 'or'. (EDIT: meant to have a here. Early day. Seems like my body isn't adjusting quickly to the time change) It doesn't seem like the RSI is a completely magical tool to use with AAPL, at least with a simple pattern like sell at 70 and buy at 50, unless happy with only a small portion of AAPL gains or doing this as an added risk in addition to a long term position. ie AAPL has done so well that if you're not up in the 9 digit level, this probably wouldn't bring you to that Forbes list with 10 figures, by itself. ie don't think of it as some magic potion that you missed out on. There's just been a lot of times where you would miss out on some huge rises in AAPL. schrts.co/tQjtaTuVLooking at this year, if buying at an RSI of 40 and selling at an RSI of 70 you would have maybe bought last November at 140, sold at the start of February at 150, missed out on the rise to 195, then bought in at 185 or 180 in August, and still be waiting. That would be a profit currently, and this period seems unique, but you'd also miss out on that overall larger gain of 140 to 183. It just depends on what you want, and how you do it. A gain is a gain. But like Cramer and Lucky say, just own it. That said, there are investors that prefer the short term, and we sometimes hear from the ones that have done well. I just picked up some extra shares before earnings at 167, so that's a nice little 16 point gain in what, 2 weeks. Nearly 10%. It's hard to feel bad about that, but on that I'm just playing with a little extra borrowed funds, instead of betting the farm. FWIW, one book I read long ago did talk of an RSI strategy. It might have been something like "the little black book of stock investing", but maybe not. I think it used the upper RSI level as a trailing thing, so instead of looking at going up through an RSI of 70, instead keep holding until it drops through 70. AAPL is a rare unicorn, but it looks like you could set up something like that, or going even wider, such as "buy some if when the RSI drops below 35 and fill up if the RSI makes it down to 30.5. Sell when the RSI drops below 60 after going up to at least 75, and sell all at 60 if it went to 80. But then we also have to remember that we're data mining at some point, based on AAPL's stellar history. I feel somewhat safe buying AAPL nearly anytime, because of where Apple and its customers are. But that doesn't mean one should get too risky, or take on too many strategies without considering that past performance might not dictate what happens in the future. Anyways, I just wanted to point out that while there are times a simple RSI strategy seems like something that should have been used with AAPL, there are also plenty of times where one would have missed out.

He (Powell) probably got early October GDP numbers in recent days. I still don't think they will raise again in December, instead I think he's using the jawboning technique to help in the fight against inflation.
