A few different AAPL articles out there this morning: Speculation on under-screen cameras being pushed out a few years iPhone 18 might get under-screen Face IDAn article on AAPL's market cap, and what could push it higher. This article is available on the stock app instead, giving a lot more of it. The basics are that AAPL is currently within a couple percent of the average analyst target, and at $3T again which was the limit last time, but it speculates that more info on Apple's AI push could cause a jump upwards. We're at strange times now, with so much being based on speculation of when things will change in the future, especially interest rates. It doesn't seem like now is a time for things to leap upward, though yesterday's push had me hopeful just 30 minutes ago. It will come, but getting excited 30 minutes before kickoff doesn't change the game's start time. Apple’s Limit Is $3 Trillion, Wall Street Says. One Thing Could Change That. And then we have a push for iPhone batteries to be made in India. It sounds like this is more of a diversified production, such as all the ones for the India assembly, instead of a more complete move that the titles of the articles slightly suggest. Either way, it is good to have a variety of suppliers or production, for a variety of reasons. It's not all geopolitical, though that is on the list too. Apple wants battery suppliers to move production to IndiaOil is finally seeing $70 again, while gold is at a high. Lots of unknowns in the coming 6-12 months are keeping things volatile.

3 Trillion as a limit for Apple makes as much sense to me as the "Law of Large Numbers". We don't hear that rubic much anymore, do we? I believe that quality and steady needs-driven evolution will continue to expand Apple's lead over what used to be called the "competition". There are limits, but they are not arbitrary. Who knows what the effect of the AR and auto efforts will yield?
Other than that, I have the highest respect for financial analysts

For whatever reason kids use iPhones. They will for the most part use them for the rest of their lives. But new kids eventually will do something different. Windows still sells a lot of the old dell-msft-intel junk but not really a growth area. Old people who came of age using windows, use iPhones but still buy dell or whatever laptops and desktops. They delete all the junk and use them like they have for decades.
iPhone is safe for a while, but eventually Apple will have to find something new to keep its market cap. MSFT found the cloud, video games, and monthly fees for software. IBM lost the mainframe market to MSFT and never reached the sky again. Xerox had it all. Gone. Polaroid vanished. Hope I live long enough to see how Apple handles the inevitable.
For now Apple is the thing that the kids use and will for decades. The tiktok gen might get a message to throw away your iPhone and but some chinese one. How many would follow?

The biggest hardware improvement Apple can do for the Phone and Pad is to add a Palm Pilot or Galaxy Note spring loaded holder for the Apple pen. The ease at which the pen falls off my iPad and the time I have to look for it...absurd. Just because Jobs wasn't a fan of the pen or stylus doesn't mean others share his view. Making a pad with a stylus holder for 100 more would test out the theory. Jobs' disdain of handwriting recognition and a stylus were quirks of his. True answer the phone with a finger is fun. But trying to type with large fingers or close out a page is better done with a pointer. Get over yourself Apple, the Palm Pilot was a great product and so is the Note.

But trying to type with large fingers or close out a page is better done with a pointer. Get over yourself Apple, the Palm Pilot was a great product and so is the Note. Some people feel that way. The question is how many? The only time it feels sloppy to me is when some point of sale device asks me to sign. These days half the time it is an iPad, but sometimes other places have you do that on a tiny area, giving up with the "pens" that used to be attached. But I could see it any time precision is needed, whether that is using a "paint brush" in an app, or trying to draw out site or mechanical plans. All would benefit from being on a larger screen, so are more likely on an iPad or iPad Pro. I haven't looked until now, but a quick amazon search pulled up just what I thought it would, iPhone cases with pens (stylus)Looks like they have what you want, starting at just $10.

It seemed like the 3T mark didn't matter much, and would be just the same if it were 2T or 4T. The bigger thing was the "the stock has been here before, and was turned back last time, so will probably be turned back this time". It'd be different if Apple, or Foxconn, came out and said sales were up by 50%. Instead, saying they are ok or up a little points to not needing to be worried as much about the downside, but still not really having a reason to shoot on higher from here. Instead, here AAPL is, doing pretty great but not in nosebleed area. And that's fine. Nice to see the AI/AR/MLK released. Apple's apparently not going big on announcing this stuff. Maybe they are going the Jaws route, possibly just continuing to circle around in the water, but you never know when they are going to sneak on up. Life doesn't normally play the soundtrack.
