This was also part of the story that you linked to. And remember the stories last year about China restricting the iPhones use in the workforce.

That's okay...I'm happy with the amount of buybacks, don't need more taxable dividends and don't think R&D is too crazy high (Horace Dediu image attached from 9/2023). I patiently wait for Tim to say, "One More Thing!" Attachments:

Evercore analyst Amit Daryanani in a research note on Sunday ... reiterated an Outperform rating and $220 target price on Apple stock.
Phone revenue should be flat to up slightly – while we do sense there is incremental weakness in China, this is offset by better trends elsewhere,” the analyst wrote.
As for potential antitrust concerns, Daryanani labels them only a “headline risk” this year, arguing that any investigation is likely to take several years to come to a conclusion....
“Regardless of the outcome, it will be years before there is any financial impact to Apple,” Daryanani wrote.

People forget what first edition of apple products cost when adjusted for inflation….
Around the time when the Apple II was being phased out, Jobs was still there pushing a new computer called the LISA, I really really wanted one, list price was $10,000 in 1983. Using inflation since them at 3% a year, that equates to $36,600!
The original iPhone was $600, and that was in 2007, so adjusted for inflation, $1,025, for a barely useable, NO outside apps, and 3G internet that sucked.
Not to mention the original 18k gold Apple Watch for $17,000!
There are about 3 BILLION Apple uses nowadays worldwide….
If only 1/10,000th of them buy, that equals 300,000 units in year one.
if the gals are lining up and waiting MONTHS to buy a BIRKIN HANDBAG for over 10k, for a purse!! And a ROLEX base model for 8K to 14K, it shows that there is a huge worldwide market that wants status, bragging rights, and has the means to pay for things….
The first batch will sell out in two hours.
The RESALE market for unopened new units in DUBAI will be over $5k the second week IF you can get one there....
the amount of yakking over how "expensive" this is, posted by salary constrained journalists will be massive, the more they complain and bitch, the more exclusive the product will seem.
When GOPRO on a helmet is integrated for sports implementation { not to mention porn } this will go bonkers.

BA has wet the bed consistantly, they need a CEO overhaul in a big way. Still 200 points from precovid high, they hurt the War stocks like DFEN that they are a large part of. Not like we don't have enough wars to push the stocks up. Guess the Apple is too high talking heads have worn out their welcome after a rapid decline.
the hearing aid market is likely much higher as they are a frustrating device to use and discourage users.

I would ask for a refund. Cool, and yet wouldn't that iPhone have been locked? How did he open it? It had no passcode? 🤔

I noticed late in the day that a standing order I had in place executed. My Jan '24 140/160 BCS trade exited. I had $19.90 set as the price, for a ~49% gain since March '23. Not bad. I like when BCS work out for me. Now let's see if the Mar '24 170/190 BCS works out.

I will have to see it to believe it, sales wise I mean. I’m involved in a project where we are presenting in VR on the Meta headset and I have to say that I am quite impressed with the experience. There are some cool features, like being able to digitally fence around you to avoid walking into things whilst in a VR environment and look through ability. We last used VR about 5 years ago and it was compelling for about 30 seconds. After that it just felt gimmicky. The resolution on the Meta platform is quite low and the latency makes the whole thing feel sluggish. Yet still I was happy to stay in that VR immersion for 15 minute without getting bored. Our client and our developer are already talking about how much better they think Vision Pro will be and they are not Mac centric users in their corporate lives. Undoubtedly the Vision Pro will set the benchmark for how VR/AR should be done and I’m sure customer feedback and satisfaction will be very positive. I’m not convinced the hardware is in its mature form factor and that it will be gen 2 or 3 before it gets real traction. But i’m sure it will make a solid contribution to the bottom line eventually.
