I forgot to post this yesterday. We have NFLX after market today, AT&T premarket, Tesla and IBM after market tomorrow, and Intel after market on Thursday.

I was bored last night and headed over to AppleInsider. There's a couple of articles on AppleInsider about the AVP. The 2 I read thru are on the current lack of good marketing (I like'd the rifle vs shotgun ideas, even if it was from a computer class), and then the review from August that was linked within it. appleinsider.com/articles/24/01/22/so-far-apple-is-struggling-to-market-apple-vision-proappleinsider.com/articles/23/08/18/hands-on-with-apple-vision-pro-in-the-wildThe Stolen Device Protection sounds like a good thing to enable: appleinsider.com/articles/24/01/23/how-to-use-stolen-device-protectionFinally, there is going to be an upgrade available to some Honda Accords to add wireless CarPlay (even without an accord, it's interesting to see this happening, and maybe it will happen with other vehicles). And there's an old (but IMO nearly worthless) article on wired vs wireless CarPlay appleinsider.com/articles/24/01/23/wireless-carplay-upgrade-coming-to-select-honda-accords-later-in-2024appleinsider.com/inside/carplay/vs/wired-carplay-vs-wireless---the-pros-and-consTo me that wired vs wireless acticle was helpful really only in telling me that there is almost no difference in the two, while showing that what could have been written in a 1 paragraph summary was made to take pages of space. And one sentence could pass along most of the info. Basically, wired charges at the same time and makes it easy to pick which one you are attached to, but wireless is simple that it just works and you can also keep your phone in your pocket or purse. Nice to see AAPL up. I really like the mini charts on the stock app. But being on the computer, I opened yahoo in a new tab, and then clicked on AAPL to see that daily chart...instead of looking at my Watch or pulling out my iPhone. Theoretically easier isn't always easiest.

Here's an interesting rumor reported as fact. A simpler Apple car in 2028? www.macrumors.com/2024/01/23/apple-car-scaled-down-2028-launch/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon"Apple has pivoted to simpler, less ambitious design for the Apple Car in order to actually bring the vehicle to market, reports Bloomberg. Apple initially wanted a driverless car with full autonomous capabilities, but it is now developing an electric vehicle with fewer features. After abandoning the driverless plans, Apple aimed for a car with Level 4 autonomous functionality that would have allowed the car's system to take over driving in limited circumstances such as on highways, but even that was too ambitious. Apple is said to be focusing on driver-assistance features that are closer to how Tesla vehicles operate, and it will have a Level 2+ system. Level 2 autonomous driving includes steering and brake/acceleration support, but the driver remains in control of the car and must pay attention on the road. Despite the scaling back of the project, Apple's launch timeline for the Apple Car has been adjusted. Apple wanted to introduce the car sometime around 2026, but Apple is now targeting a 2028 release at the earliest. According to Bloomberg, this marks a "pivotal moment" for the Apple Car. If the company is not able to deliver an electric vehicle with this feature set, executives may "seriously reconsider the project's existence.""

I think that the car market, electric or not is already overly crowded and would be a slow painful market failure for Apple.

Too many EV's in China. Charts have some interesting findings. Using the Ichimoka Cloud charts Apple has exited no man's land into the clear skies. St the same time AAPL has filled the last large gap down. These are very positive. You can buy a few June 26 leaps for reasonable premiums.
I'd rather see Apple focus on hearing aids. That is needed. Another car? Plus the medical device stuff. That could be huge. Apple pay as well. Those augment the system. The TV? Never too late to buy Netflix. please no more cricket or soccer! I got ESPN+ and have spectrum cable which does not support same. It only took me an hour and a half to figure out how to get it going through Apple TV. My LG tv doesn't support apps either: "This device does not support live programming?" Maybe make a real TV instead of the router? LG makes nice tvs but their software is really second rate. Comcast has great software by the by.

Hearing aids seem Like the short term choice, they’re well positioned for it already, and there’s a ton of money to be made.
With their ability to create amazing power efficient solutions, like Apple Silicon, they can definitely add some value to the car space. Current EV’s are way too heavy (read:inefficient) along with other limitations.
Despite the subsidies, the Chinese EV market is far more robust and healthy than the US one. Safety and other Requirements are different between the US and China, but there are plenty of top quality vehicles available in China that don’t exist in the US market. Apple could synthesize the best of all of those, and bring it to the US under US brand to harvest the $7500 rebate in addition to their usual improvements that they offer any mature product.
That’s not even counting whatever kind of autonomous driving software they come up with. Which, of course would be world class and far beyond anything like the rubbish Tesla offers. PHEV would be a good option as well , better in some ways than a pure EV play.

My lovely bride recently got hearing aids. I am learning rapidly that muttering under my breath is no longer a viable option. I don't fully understand the hearing aid capabilities, but one interesting feature is that she can connect them to her phone and now only she can hear Siri give directions. We have older cars and do not have CarPlay, we just use our phones to navigate. This has created an interesting situation where she is the only one who knows where we are going. For many couple this would be a major adjustment. For us, not so much. I see it as a helpful transition to Full Self Driving. Some one once told me ,"It's not hard to grow old, it's hard to grow old gracefully"
