Too long of a title for the subject line! That's a first. The full title is "Memoirs of extraordinary popular delusions and the madness of crowds" The is another classic, like "Manias, Panics, and Crashes", that hits of several of the crazy investing times over the past centuries. Nothing is ever exactly the same, but these are so similar to our crazy times in the last few decades. Most recently I read it as a free download in the Books app on the iPad. One part that really stood out to me was what I quoted in a different thread: aaplfinance.proboards.com/thread/3931/lords-finance-bankers-broke-world?page=1&scrollTo=133721

“There’s a sucker born every minute.” There’s a whole advertising industry that is dependent on selling you something that you didn’t even know that you wanted or needed. ScamI’d like to add “the fear of missing out” to the list of characteristics.

I think I've seen many refer to this book as "Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds" or even just "The Madness of Crowds". Probably for space reasons. And, of course, once the phrase became famous, more recently other authors have titled their own books "The Madness of Crowds". Meh!
