Debris ball 2+ miles wide and its getting larger. ALREADY being called the worst $Damage tornado in the history of man. Another tornado is now on the ground in another area near Oklahoma City. I predict the Wall Street Journal will blame Apple.

Sen Levin on TV with the complaints the government has against AAPL and its tax structure. These people need to share whatever they are smoking. How about changing the corporate tax structure and getting it right instead of pouncing on corporates. AARRRGGGHHHH! By the way - that's why they are selling it after hours. Levin was suppose to come out at 7 pm with this but came out now...referring to AAPL's tax strategy as "gimmicks." What a crock. The tax legislation enacted by LAW was bought and paid for by special interests funneling money to LAWmakers. Senator Levin: That is YOU, you moron. 26% tax rate isn't nearly as gimmicky as some other gimmickry I see some from companies like, I dunno, Google. And gimme a break, Apple's actually saying a repatriation tax of some kind is OK (read: olive branch) - so to respond that way is kind of a stupid negotiating tactic. He's a moron for sure, but there's a lot of em in MorongressCongress. Doesn't reflect well upon the electorate...

It's all important. Like zoom on a camera. Sometimes little pic ripples out to big pic; sometimes big pic overrules little pic. When they're all saying the same thing, we get our strongest signals. Sounding so mystical. The simple picture is so long not below $418, and once $445 is recaptured, would see $467, then $507 and then $550. Could happen before WWDC but most likely not higher than $507 before WWDC. If happen before WWDC, then would swoon back to $500 on Jun OE. Forget the dream anytime below $418, in fact, below $428, stop dreaming. LOL! Didn't *intend* to sound mystical -- you are much more of a "natural" when it comes to if/then!!

Who's the chucklehead(s) trying to sell AAPL off a bit in AH? And yes, I am watching individual trades this time. I'm not laughing. Volume is strong too -- now down $4. Testing SMA-100 on the 5. Indices did it earlier. Screenshot from the close: (see pink line)

Of course Forbes would headline Levin and McCain in the most negative light. You know, if Apple would just stuff their pockets like Amazon and Google did, perhaps they would have a different witness tomorrow. Seriously, everyone KNOWS the tax code is F'd up beyond repair. And hello! Our lawmakers are responsible. If they were SERIOUS about changing it, they wouldn't need Apple to blame for their own complete and utter failures as "leaders." I can't believe McCain and Levin are so dumb to think we don't see past the hypocrisy. Further, there are far, far better corporations to be made an example of for utilization of tax strategies. www.forbes.com/sites/steveschaefer/2013/05/20/senators-rip-apples-holy-grail-of-tax-avoidance-ahead-of-cook-testimony/?partner=yahootix

The Holy Grail of deferred tax liability. As long you idiots keep this up, nuh uh, you ain't having any.
"Like we care that 60%+ of your sales are international! Pay the Man!"
The longer no one mentions 8% Google, the more ridiculous this will be.
It's settled - we resume our political grandstand programming tomorrow. Sheesh.

What a sham!

Over the weekend I worked up another stink bid for this Friday. 18 seconds into today's session it was filled. $430/$435 BCS @ $2.33. That's two in a row. Time to start looking further out. Gregg, you realize that you employ the same strategy every time: put your quarter in the slot machine and pull the lever.

This is one of those times I wish SJ was around to blast these idiots, as I fear TC will be his usual restrained, polite self. I have learned that there is a time for charming, and a time to be an advocate and kick ass and not worry about making friends. This is one of those latter instances. And I hope we can all agree that with Apple's CEO testifying before Congress tomorrow, this is 100% on-topic and not too political, so people won't squeal and hide behind mommy's skirt! This issue directly affects all of us. Regardless of one's politics, I think we'd all agree that the media is not reporting this fairly or accurately. Apple has not "dodged" a dime of taxes. None of us can touch a penny of that offshore cash without paying the IRS first, a point lost on the media that I hope TC will hammer repeatedly.

GE #1, Apple #10. And yet the story is called, " Digging Into Apple’s Overseas Cash Pile"

Who's the chucklehead(s) trying to sell AAPL off a bit in AH? And yes, I am watching individual trades this time. Based on volume alone, which is 13% below Earnings-to-date average, I'd venture its buyers from last Wednesday's decline taking profits (AAPL up $25+ from intraday low).

Back on my P/C Ratio soapbox.
Over the weekend OI changed as follows:
Call OI dropped 14,499 contracts Put OI dropped 297,571 contracts.
Appears to me that the Bears got what they wanted, and are heading back to their cave (with a full belly).
Tomorrow's action will be, as always, interesting.

Go on and hate on Apple's Irish subsidiaries if you like, Sen. Levin - won't make a damn difference unless you look beyond the Double Irish with a Dutch Sandwich (or if Top Tax Dodger Apple somehow has this wrong):
Page 14 of Apple's testimony:
Emphasis mine. In other words, you're still not gettin' any of Apple's money. And how curious that entities like AOI have been around for over 30 years and Apple doesn't get dragged before the Senate until it's a certain level of successful, and/or Steve Jobs isn't there to speak up for his company.
Would be nice if a senator or two actually speaks up for Apple, or at least shines the spotlight on much more deserving companies like 8% Google. Not holding my breath.

Mav - for the love of God - you are stuffing the thread with AAPL facts! We are talking CONGRESS - there is NO place for facts in Congress. They work 20 days a year - have a staff of 50 - get pension and healthcare for life - all on our dime for doing a lousy job. But let's go after AAPL for shits and giggles.

Those were my thoughts as well. Any excuse to book profits. I am still feeling bullish about the week. Meaning we will close higher then last Friday. For me we nee to stay over 443.

We all know it's BS and surely Apple does everything within the law, and of course is not close to the worst offender. But the market hates uncertainty, and the accusation that it has avoided 10s of billions in taxes introduces some uncertainty.
Apple also spends less than any large company on lobbying. No doubt that explains why it, at number 10 on that list, is being picked on instead of the others.

Republicans appear willing to risk their pro-business reputation with grandstanding at Apple's expense. It's probably no coincidence that Apple hasn't made a very good impression as an organization lining up with Republican party talking points.
Is Apple serving as a proxy for taking a hit at Obama?

Based on ? 4...4....3 is a mystic code signifying the nexus of height, breadth and depth. If one is above the mystic symbol, one will stay above it...if one alights upon it, one may rise above it or fall below it. If one falls below it, one may rise above it, or fall further below it......all by next week!

Many observers wonder how Repiblican McCain is on various platforms. We have two chuckleheads, one on each party on record for now.

Don't we have numerous people in the House who simply "forgot" to pay their taxes? Oh yeah and how about Geitner...he had his tax issues as well. Oh and I'm guessing the McCains or the Levins don't have any trusts or structures set up within their families to "stay within the legal rules but mitigate taxes" For crying out loud - who wants to play pot and who wants to be the kettle tomorrow!? What a frigging waste of taxpayer money to watch this crap.

I think the Apple tax "outrage" is fast running its course. Both sides' positions are already published, vetted and critiqued on blogs, websites and nightly news.
TC should be fully prepared...he's seen the whole game already. Counter, polite, points all ready to go.
Unless he really loses his cool...(TC..!) he and Apple wil be fine.
Windbag alert!

TC should ask both senators if they use an iPad or iPhone and how much do they enjoy them. Would they recommended the devices to their friends? Levin is a die heart liberal that will retire next year. McCain is just a media whore. No tax reform will pass without the house. This issue will fade and the legislation will continue to collect dust.
