And when Gilles said that AAPL "WILL NEVER EVER go back to the highs it once made" .... he gave new meaning to "repulsive" !! I'm going to remember this "claim chowder." When AAPL sees $700 again, Colin Gillis will then be on CNBC screaming (along with Melissa Lee): "It's a bubble!!!" Increase the TTE to $50 and P/E to 14 ... Bingo

The margins are in the buttons....don't you know anything about business? Upon seeing other images on the web, it's fine if it's hard plastic, but the one pictured here looks like it was crafted from a gummy bear. If only margins were created out of volume buttons.... Margins ARE created out of volume buttons....along with every other cheaper component. Does anyone seriously think apple is only going lower cost on the buttons and not on the rest of the phone as well? By using plastic for buttons gives a very good indication of the overall goal of the 5C, it's going to be ruthlessly engineered for high margins even at lower prices. The screen is the main thing to worry about, I will be happy for everything else to be as cheap as possible (without being fault prone). This baby is going to be cheaper to build than the iPhone 4/4S for sure (which was originally designed as a premium model).

Someone transacted 3600 synthetics on the OCT'13 500 strike. Don't know if it's long or short, but OI tomorrow will show if it's opening or closing.

So...is SMA-200 or EMA-200 cross the bigger deal for traders? Probably depends on who you ask, but a question I'd like to hear answered. Going by StockCharts.com again (which is dividend adjusted), the EMA200 is at 462.31 and the SMA 200 is at 464.68, so we are above both of them. Non-dividend adjusted averages are higher. In fact, our high of the day touched the non-dividend adjusted EMA200 almost exactly. My followup question is what do traders look at, dividend or non-dividend adjusted averages? The EMA touch implies non-dividend adjusted EMA to me... It seems half are trading dividend adjusted and the other half unadjusted averages, which means the target can go fuzzy when a big stock is moving toward a key average. For example, the folks who put out the charts at T3 Live seem to be using unadjusted averages. It's as though everyone agrees that it's important to reach a certain milestone, except that the location of that milestone differs according to the map.

Red - ever the sophomoric captain. iPad - so someone's apparently making a play for $11M or so in premium, thinking that AAPL will be 500 or lower (ideally) or no higher than 530ish by October? Or vice versa I guess. Do I have that right? Not a small fish trader, it seems. prazan - Redler said 490 today and I have no idea where he got that from. Gotta look at my (sigh) Silverlight charts later, but the unadjusted SMA-200 can't be more than 5 bucks away last I checked.

So I'm watching this "Risk Takers" piece about Elon Musk on the Bloomsburg channel, and it mentions that he hired some guy named Fisker, who worked as a car design consultant, to design the Tesla "S" mid-size sedan about 5 years ago. Musk says he paid this guy a ton of money, and his designs were garbage. But the kicker is that the bum rips off Tesla's designs, and then goes shopping them with potential investors to start his own car company.
Of course, I immediately thought of Samesung, who ripped off Apple's design from doing manufacture of some of the IPhone components, as well as though reverse engineering, to develop its crap smartphones.

They consistently ignore two things to make this plausible. First and foremost, IT"S THE SOFTWARE STUPID! Secondly and no less important (to me) is that their hardware is both elegant and built like a tank. I'd be buying Macs even if I was still running windows.

And for you "pain pals" out there, if we don't get well past 470 soon, might this pull us below by Friday?

Gawd, what a buzzkill. ;D
I can see AAPL being stopped by that friggin' mountain of calls...again, but fortunately it's still early. I can adjust here and there as early as tomorrow, just as long as AAPL is over 465 or so at market open.
(WAG, AAPL has plenty of residual momentum left for a lively market open.)

Gene Munster is dropping acid again, predicting the 5c will lack Siri. And he still fancies a TV by the end of the year.
Timothy Leary lives...

Apple should send someone over and slap Munster upside the head.
No Siri. On this year's iPhones. Please.
