It is slower on my 5. They need to improve calendar views.
It will take time to get used to. Typing seems a little harder with smaller keyboard fonts.

TURN OFF ALL YOUR RUNNING APPS
That's what I finally tried, and I'm an hour into my iPad upgrade (20 minutes to go).

Hmm. AAPL picking up a little momentum in AH. Just outside my personal "margin of error" of 50 basis points.

Well, congrats to anyone who bought in below 460. I gave up trying to figure out the short-term trading ever since, uh, the 490s.

After I had a stop triggered in the fall from the grace of 500, I sat out the market for a while. Then, when it looked like the new phones were going to succeed despite all the disappointment over Apple's market share strategy, I went back in. That should be the kiss of death.

AAPL will probably be a sell-the-news on Monday (but I hope not) and the roller coaster will continue with this Hedge Fund plaything! Better to buy at a more comfortable level with a tight stop.

OH NOES NO TRANSPARENCIES Well, iPad 3 only has the gfx it needs to get to roughly iPad 2 overall performance with 4x the pixels...I won't fall for Apple's marketing so easily next time. Maybe I'll buy an iPad 6 or 7. I tell a lie! Transparency is present on both the iPad 3 & iPhone 4, its just much less transparent than the original beta screenshots I remember. iOS 7 is still a decent experience on the iPhone 4, but its definitely pushing the boundaries of its capabilities.

Interesting...
Enabling "increase contrast" is the hidden setting to eliminate ALL transparency.
Might save a tiny bit of battery in a pinch? Who knows.

iRadio is a-ok. Pandora must be crapping. Spotify still a compelling service. iOS7 in general intrigues, is very smooth and fast-feeling on my 5. Apps look aged. I expect a very iOS7 'look' driven redesign in app look and feel among developers great and small. Jony Ives is a living legend, and his influence is unprecedented.
Crazy clamor for iOS7, soon to be followed by crazy clamor for iPhone 5s. What's the bear case, again?

Not that I'm Nagrani, but I was singing, "Never, ever give up, even when the going gets tough," from Thomas the Tank Engine. Gotta be positive with kids, you know. The first part of that quote, "Never, ever give up", is actually attributed to the late Jimmy Valvano, former NC State coach and Rutgers alum.

The best improvement I have found with ios7 is Maps. Maps are actually an option now instead of google maps. Why no iTunes Radio for Canada?

Update: Just knocked out the move to ios 7 in just about an hour.
Perhaps things are cranking better on the servers.
Went thru itunes for update rather than over wi-fi directly to the iPhone, so that may have been the difference.
Looks great!

The shared links feature in Safari is great if you use twitter as your primary news feed. It give you all the webpage links from your twitter feed.

Actually iPhone 5 does seem just a bit slower, though a bit faster in a few ways too.
Typing targets seem a little narrower because of lack if contrast and borders compared to iOS 6. But they're the same as they've always been.

I AM bugged by *cough* the "new AFB1" obsessions here and there with space between borders. Looks nicer but also a bit inefficient.

My thoughts on why Apple denied preorders are evolving. I think the fingerprint sensor technology is solid enough where most of that concern/risk can be taken off the table.
I think the reasons are probably threefold: 1. Give the 5c a headstart 2. Apple has an easier time upselling customers inside the retail store and 3. Demand will be much stronger than supply, exacerbated by adding China to launch country.
My thinking now is Apple reports combined sales for 5c and 5s next Monday. Best (conservative) guess is 6M+

But they're the same as they've always been. Apple needs to either open up the keyboard to 3rd parties or BUY a popular 3rd party and use the tech. I don't personally have a problem with it because I don't use the keyboard that much ... when I do it's not the best experience so I understand when I hear complaints.

Mercel - if they report 6m sales Monday, what do you think the market response would be?
Last year, they reported 5m first-weekend sales, and then another 2m first-weekend sales in China... considering China is part of the launch this time, it seems like the benchmark compare with last year is 7m...
