Now we have to navigate until earnings. Sadly, 500 may be a price point that can't be breached until Apple reports the HARD numbers that were clearly implied in the SEC filing a few days ago. We also have an iPad update coming within three weeks....and Apple i am sure continues to buy back shares. all of this should build fuel for the next six months, and if guidance is as good as many suspect, the trigger could or should be in late October. Personally, I'd prefer some price action a bit sooner...... Bingo

Don't look at the size of Oct 500 Yep. I think I saw 44k call contracts. Depressing... Like I said, when I leave this stock for good, I'm going to either stay out of the market entirely or invest in companies without all this short term option interest. october isn't exactly short term interest only. it's one of the big 4 months (jan/apr/jul/oct) and a lot of the contracts probably have been around for a while. still i'm sure at least half have been opened in the past month or two. if this october wall is a bad one, don't even look at the january 500 wall. We'll need the help of the white walkers to climb that one.

Anyone truly confident new iPad will be introduced before holiday season begins? (Or mini) My WAG is late October or early November iPad normal with flat mini design, A7, improved cameras and other specs, Itouch scanner.

There's a part of me that thinks Apple needs to make a big statement acquisition, like buying Nokia's maps division Here (formerly known as Navteq when Nokia acquired it). Just to show that they are prepared to use their cash hoard to secure technological advantages. There is nothing wrong with Apple's business despite all the nonsense in the media, but shaking things up by making a bolder looking move might force the hacks to reconsider some of their dumber ideas for spreading FUD. The differences between Apple Maps and Google Maps is really quite small. Yes you can find errors in Apple Maps, buy so too can you find errors in Google Maps. Google Maps does have some features not found in Apple Maps, nut recent Apple acquisitions (not yet incorporated into Apple Maps) will change that, with the very real potential of surpassing Google Maps. What Apple Maps NEEDS is time, something that Google Maps required a lot of to get where its at today.

Worth noting he is reaching the same bullish conclusions that Gregg has been preaching for ever here. He estimates we could see 80 million iPhones in 1st quarter by simply looking at historical moves. I say mid 65 if they can produce enough. The 80 million was first mentioned by Gregg. Wonder if the Forbes author is doing his own research or just reading AFB. OK, which one of you guys is Mark Rogowski? Actually, Mark used a slightly different methodology to arrive at his 80 Million units number, but the results are virtually the same. Again, for the record, until Apple Guides the December quarter I'm modeling ~64 Million iPhones for FQ1/2014. I'm expecting management to Guide Revenue between $60 Billion and $64 Billion.

And of course, it's just a band of gold-colored plastic around the edge. Stay classy, Samsung!

Today's action is nothing to be concerned about, IMO.
All three US Indexes are down, with AAPL dropping a bit more percentage wise. But I think it's reasonable that AAPL is off by about 1.2%, considering that during the prior 2 days it went up 4.97%.
Volume suggests to me that sellers exist in the same volume as before, with buyers having got their fill and are now taking some time off.

I'm convinced most of you think AAPL should be green every single day.
Why any of you care, when there are only a handful of traders here, is beyond me. It's the damn ebb and flow of the market. This is normal.

To me it looks like they're ramping up the FUD (iPhones sitting on shelves somewhere in Europe or Asia? Wtf!) in order to keep the stock down below 500 through Oct options expiration. Oct earnings and guidance will finally give irrefutable proof that AAPL is far from "rotten" but not before collecting all the Oct 500 chips

The "Apple Can't Win" article was good, but it didn't go far enough. There exists in the media commentary on Apple this undertone of Karl Rovian reverse logic it seems; sorta like, The Clear Skies Initiative from the Bush Era really increased allowable pollution levels in many cases. So, The A7 chip isn't faster 'cause 64 bit processing requires 4 gigs of RAM to be effective. I know 'cause my friend's uncle worked for Intel in the 70s. Oh, tests show it is faster? Well, whatever. The fingerprint scanner is useless 'cause eight German dudes locked up together for three days can hack it with scanners, crazy glue, a toothbrush and a beaver pelt. iOS7 is a step backwards. It's too fruity, like a Barbie make-over. iOS6 was fine. Why change what works well? Actually, my cousin wrote that on Facebook. iPhone 5c should've been priced lower, shouldn't come in those colors, is the same phone as the 5 wrapped in plastic and is just sitting on store shelves. 9 million iPhones in three days isn't good despite Apple using the exact same criteria to count sales as ever. The channel was stuffed like a holiday turkey. FAIL, Apple! Gold is the stupidest color ever! Gawdy as my Aunt Jizelle's cubic zirconium jewelry. What? It's the most popular model? Samsung and HTC are copying and putting out their own gold models? Whatever, see Apple's latest "innovation," gold paint, has already been matched by the competition! The dividend is useless; it's too small; it's a sign that APPL's no longer growing. Ha ha. The buyback is stupid. Apple can't think of anywhere else to put their iMoney. They're just hiding the fact that growth is gone and reducing the # of shares to pump up EPS. What? Having fewer shares is better for long term stockholders? Whatever. Apple pays more in taxes than anybody? Wrong, they're typical corporate cheaters, hiding that money overseas - shameless! Apple is more pro-active in policing its subcontractors' factories than anybody?! Horse hockey! Apple hires Chinese kids to work for pennies and has to have nets put up to catch all the suicides. And I could go on, but won't. Up is down. I'm selling APPL and going all in on Samsung. If you can't beat 'em . . . APPL all time high.

The perfect solution to Steve Balmer's problem. Develop a quick easy install for Winows mobil operating system, wipes Amazon's OS. Viola no more worrying about developing hardware.

Iphone 5s came in today. My one negative is the app store "card view" search introduced in ios6 apparently, and carried over to ios7. It sucks bigtime! Bring back list view Everything else seems great and touch id is working nicely.

It'll all be over once Apple is finished it's buyback shopping spree. Which if my memory serves me correctly was changed from Fiscal 2015 to Fiscal 2014. Whcih could mean the BS storm maybe finished as early as Oct 2013 (technically). When we reach that point, it'll be rediculous the other way. And maybe that's waht TC meant when he said in April, 2013 "...to all those AAPL investors out there, just be patient". Now that TC has a Twiter Account, we should all bombard him with comical sounding requests to 'get the stock buy back over with, will ya?, so the stock price can recover '.

Ouch.
Samsung Galaxy trade-ins jumped 210% during iPhone 5S/C launch.
