I got a linkedin message from an Apple recruiter today. 'Your background appears to be a potential match to existing and future product development. ' While I bet they reached out to a lot of potential engineers, the thought of it made my pants move a bit ;D Hey terps, if you stop posting we'll know you've been hired!

I think we move up in the morning but settle back to a mildly up day. Careful, you're beginning to sound a bit like Sponge here... ;D We will be up unless we are down, in which case we may sell off to 499, which only makes the move by next Thursday to 659 more certain.

If you're right, then Sponge is buying drinks this time. If you're wrong, Sponge is buying drinks this time.

China mobile subscribers make up 11% of the worlds population. Yep, but of those 11%, how many of those make more than 10k/year? Maybe 10%? And of those, how many will choose iPhone instead of a high end Android phone, low end Android phone or skip a Smartphone altogether?? 50%? I'm all for China Mobile, but I think it's mostly been priced in...I'd much prefer a new product like iWatch or iTV

Priced-in? Sometimes I really wonder why I frequent this ridiculous forum. Yeah, priced in. It's not exactly a new rumor. Are you calling for blast off in the morning?

Priced-in? Sometimes I really wonder why I frequent this ridiculous forum. LOL. China Mobile is just a backyard carrier selling handsets to a village of three. But you COULD have paid more attention to TA last week and sold. ;D

Priced-in? Sometimes I really wonder why I frequent this ridiculous forum. It's up nearly $200 from the lows and almost $50 in 10 days since the "rumors" became more clear. I'm confused.

Priced-in? Sometimes I really wonder why I frequent this ridiculous forum. Just to clarify...we were $515 on November 20th, 10 days ago...on November 21st, we got rumors about China Mobile on December 18th...since then, in 10 trading days, we've went up $50. allthingsd.com/20131121/china-mobile-brand-launch-raises-iphone-hopes/Do people here expect AAPL will jump to $650 on China Mobile news? I could see $10 - 15 more, but I think the majority of the move is priced in. No other news has come in to justify any $50 jump.

There are plenty of long rumored events surrounding Apple - it doesn't mean they are priced in to the stock, for the simple fact that they aren't guaranteed to happen. A China mobile deal could easily add $3-$4 in EPS in 2014, until the deal is certain, no investor or analyst should be pricing in all of that extra EPS.

True, but we have run up $50 in 10 trading days after the rumors became stronger.

True, but we have run up $50 in 10 trading days after the rumors became stronger. I think that the run up is largely due to the positive news of sales of the iPads and iPhones, good earnings report, positive guidance, strategic buy backs, and the collective sound of an abundance of analysts who pulled their heads out of the nether regions where they have resided for the last year. Sure CM has been a plus but to think that a 4$ increase in earnings is already priced in is a stretch. Initially you may be right but to those of us who hold the stock long term this will be catalyst for future growth and a higher stock price. I guess if enough of the TA types "sell the news" we could see a self-fulfilling chart form but it will be reversed if the news is accurate and as someone mentioned there are no macro events that derail the deal or the market. Now that I have jinxed the whole deal by stating a positive opinion you may turn out to be right.

All the "sell the news" trolls on twitter are hilarious.
This isn't like a product introduction or earnings release where an announcement carries potentially negative news (eg no cheap iPhone! Falling margins! Etc).
There is little chance any analyst or institutional investor is going to see a confirmed china mobile deal as anything but a positive for the stock.

I'd say there's some pent-up demand
