That PRC and Me blogger's apparently lived in China a while. I think he can tell a real China Mobile store from a fake one by now.
The Beijing (arguably flagship) division of China Mobile isn't hiding iPhone 5S from anyone, really. The only question left is whether there actually _will_ be crazy initial subsidies on iPhone, not just other smartphones, to get people on the TD-LTE network.
Maybe it's just me but it sounds like a terrible long-term move, or a somewhat desperate one. To go from "light subsidy" to DoCoMo in one move may change customer attitudes more than China Mobile might want, unless wireless service margins can handle the immense subsidy hit and maybe even consumer expectations of similar awesome subsidies 2 years from now.

There has been a lot of promotion of the poor mans AAPL trading algorithm lately (AAPL goes up Mon-Wed, goes down Thu-Fri).
So while everyone blames AAPLs lazy Friday performance on weeklies, there could be an element of system feedback whereby everybody now expects Apple to drop on Fridays so everyone shorts/sells position on Friday thereby reinforcing the trend.

Then again...GOOG, MSFT & NFLX all down a similar percentage today - meanwhile TWTR approaching $60 (WTF) - I guess we know where the dumb money is moving.

In case you have not seen this video. www.aapltradingroom.com/#!How-AAPL-Market-Makers-do-their-magic/cj7x/5B55B5D8-DEF1-4706-B280-7161F5763FAD Good link Sponge...it's nice to see logical explanations rather than claiming Evil Manipulators when they just don't understand how the market works. I find it funny how so many people complain about Friday pins...it's been going on for years. Either quit complaining or figure out a way to make money from it.

I'm not ready to accept this explanation. Further, acceptance of a busted market is complicity. I'm not so naive to think whining here does any good, but the more we talk about it, the chances improve people stop buying weekly calls that keep the game going. Or the weekly call buyers just go broke.

I think the video makes two points.
Weeklies drive the price of the stock in most weeks.
When there is little news and low volume it is easier to move with weeklies.
In the end we are up since July and in 6 months we will be up from Dec.
No worries.

Some people on this board remind me of the Woody Allen quote, "Life is full of misery, loneliness, and suffering - and it's all over much too soon." Or the old joke,

Now we are both complicit and at fault for people being unhappy with their abilities to invest in Apple effectively. Blaming others is the new way of the world. Amusing. Complicit my ass.

Yeah, and you're the same kind of guy who doesn't vote because it won't make any difference and you accept things. What a complete wanker. And lazy.

Who says you can't invest in Apple effectively? If you're investing in Weekly's, then perhaps you do have a problem...if you have shares and Apple tends to close lower on Friday before it jumps back on Monday, does this really matter to you unless you have options that expired on Friday? As I said, what's the point in complaining about it? If it's something that "always happens on Fridays", then it should be pretty easy to make money at it?? Perhaps Apple only goes up on Mondays because it went down Friday? Sorry, but I tend to believe in logical, scientific explanations rather than evil overlords are sitting in an ivory tower screwing over my stock.

Yeah, and you're the same kind of guy who doesn't vote because it won't make any difference and you accept things. What a complete wanker. And lazy. Go start a cult if you want blind acceptance of your "cause". You think you make a difference? Carry on with that illusion if it makes you feel better. I choose to spend my time on issues and activities where I can accomplish something. Sorry if that offends you. I think you are WAY out of line with the BS "complicit" theme of yours that you bring up ad nauseum. Look, if you believe strongly in your perspective that is fine. But you have no business insulting others because they have different opinions and priorities than you. Is that so difficult to understand?

My post was an attempt at sarcasm, and a poke at the response you got for being "complicit". I think all this talk of overlords and a rigged market is childish bull shit from people who can't accept responsibility for their own investment results.
