Rumor has it that bald Starfleet officers have well-trimmed nether regions. Orion slave girls can't resist it. So be careful where you wager your money WRT haircuts. JD, you promised not to tell...... New Year's Resolution List: 1) Less drunken Internet posting. 2) 3)

We were promised a "new product category" this year. If I had to guess, it won't be announced in January. I think it will be announced in March with shipment in April or June. My virtual nickel's on iWatch. The "easiest" product between it and an Apple television. "Neither" would be interesting too, of course. You think bigger iPad qualifies? I'm leaning maybe.

I don't think the bigger iPad counts.....I'm in for "wearable tech". It may tell time and it may fit your wrist, but calling it a watch is just too darn limiting.....

My crystal ball for 2014 includes an iWatch (or similar wearable), 4k Displays (that might double as iTV), Bigger iPhone (all sapphire), iPad Pro with Touch ID and a new Apple TV loaded w/apps and a new paradigm for selecting content. An iPad keyboard doubling as a cover should also see the light of day. An Apple audio system to complement Apple TV should get done sometime in 2014-2015, which has to be part of a bigger presence in the living room.
2014 holds a lot of promise, requiring less hope for AAPL on January 1, 2014 than what was needed a year ago.

I have no idea what the new product category will be. But in my opinion, a larger iPad (or a larger iPhone) doesn't qualify as a new category. In fact, even an iWatch barely qualifies as a category since it has to be tethered to an iPhone. That makes it more of an add-on, or accessory, product. Not quite a "category" to me. I'm really hoping for something completely new, something that will take the world by surprise, as the iPhone did.

That would totally disrupt the transportation industry and set Apple/AAPL up for the next 100 years. . . . but I'm just dreaming . . .

I vote for mobile payments as my favorite new category for apple to enter. I don't really care for the iwatch or itv-screen ideas, but easy quick mobile payments based on Ibeacon and touch id, with apple taking a tiny percentage of every transaction and putting the card processors on notice = yes please
