At least both have better odds than you seeing a haircut in 2014... ;D Rumor has it that bald Starfleet officers have well-trimmed nether regions. Orion slave girls can't resist it. So be careful where you wager your money WRT haircuts.

The striking impression inside a very big Apple store is the post-Xmas CROWD at the Genius bar and tables dedicated to training sessions. I don't ever recall the congestion at the back of the store. There's a Microsoft store on the ground level and there's nothing but an echo from the Apple store above it.
It's almost like a re-education of the population from PC to Mac and feature phones to iPhones.

Somewhat old news (about three months ago) but interesting "data point" nonetheless. Found it while I was trying to see if the Note 3 is actually selling on China Mobile yet since it has an iPhone-esque reservation page. Note use of the word "shipped". ;D www.chinadaily.com.cn/world/2013-09/25/content_16994678.htm

Let me boldly state a prediction that apple will shock all of us with a media event this month. I think they will follow suit with a new "i" product.

Don't see that happening. No leaks is impossible at aapls volume and scale at this point

Don't see that happening. No leaks is impossible at aapls volume and scale at this point All "leaks" are baseless rumors, unless made by Apple itself to credible mainstream media. Not saying a media event won't happen, although I'm not expecting anything to happen until late March/early April.

Mac Pro this year was a surprise. it was announced and subsequently released 6 months later. i'm talking about some iproduct announce and delivered within a few weeks...with no leaks? And I don't mean one leak i mean a shit load of leaks that corroborate an overriding picture. not gonna happen imo.

Agree. Nothing happening this month other than CM it seems. Which is fine! And a super-big deal anyway!
Happy New Year all btw

I'd like to propose a toast to all our absent friends, those who were an active part of the AFB community but went silent during the terrible months of decline. To a full recovery for all of us in 2014.

Just because we're unable to discern which rumors are baseless doesn't make them all baseless. AAPL has a better chance of reaching a new ATH in January than there being a product event.

The great thing about the forum is that anyone can talk out of their ass with sincerity and conviction. On that - anyone want to wager a virtual million on my prediction of an apple media event this month to discuss a roadmap or actual product?
C'mon punks. Feeling lucky?

We were promised a "new product category" this year. If I had to guess, it won't be announced in January. I think it will be announced in March with shipment in April or June.
