Took me a bit to figure out how to get this thing started this morning. I am technologically challenged at times but I eventually figure it out. Last time I was typing green was back in the late 80's on an IBM computer that weighed a ton. So glad we're back to colors that I won't need to wear sunglasses to type. Back to AAPL ... looking green in PM. I believe someone here posted the earnings date announcement by the company - if you missed it - it's January 27th. Also, Apple announced (in Asia) a one-day sales event scheduled to take place on Jan. 10 in China, Hong Kong, Korea and other major markets in the region, celebrating the Lunar New Year. And one postscript on yesterday's fiasco with that ridiculous downgrade, all the social networks lit up when CNBC interviewed that deranged analyst. He sounded like he was off his meds. I was actually embarrassed for the guy. He epitomized Looney Tunes! Anyway, let's see if we can keep this going on a positive note but there is huge OI in January that can whip us around. In the meantime, to those of you in the US....STAY WARM.... we are in a deep freeze. Only 8 degrees in NY right now....I'll be bundling up to venture outdoors like Randy in a snow suit (Ralphie's younger brother from A Christmas Story) !!!

Note to "Analyst": If you have to say (twice) that you didn't have a nervous breakdown, then you're looking like a fool at the least.

What CNBC has posted isn't the entire segment.
I think ML did bring up the nervous breakdown earlier in the interview.
The BEST part of the interview is not included in the clip made available by CNBC... The best was when our pal Melissa Lee went on the defensive about people thinking she's an Apple hater. I don't recall her previously mentioning such. They say the first part of solving a problem is realizing that you have one, so maybe she is coming around...

If the Saudis are upset about fracking, that must mean something good is happening.

I would be surprised if Apple really cared what happened that day to the stock .... in other words long term the numbers will come out regardless.
Under Jobs they outright told you they didn't give a crap about short term investors ... I'm not convinced Cook is any different in that regard .... nor should he be.
Interesting take on it either way ... I might chalk it up to a coincidence but I guess we will see after the 28th.
Good luck to the longs !

Weak action. Looks like it's going to slowly bleed out until earnings.
Good luck longs.

I said this back at SEP expiry but didn't really believe it... These fucks intend to take this to 500 by JAN expiry. #500CallWall I'm having a hard time believing that, but Maynard Um at Wells Fargo started the ball rolling last Thursday. OI suggests there will be support at $540 this week, but death by 1,000 cuts can take it lower without a catalyst. There should be some data from CM before monthly expiration but hoping this stock trades outside the option tractor beam is becoming a pipe dream. I don't expect revised guidance. What's really disappointing are the lack of analyst upgrades ahead of earnings. No one is suggesting Apple had an off holiday season. On the contrary, I think WS knows Apple had an excellent quarter and aren't buying until after the call walls (at least the $550) gets obliterated. Analysts are so good at offering opinions about Apple's business but are completely gutless, or at least complicit with allowing the institutions to buy AAPL cheap before earnings. Until OI returns to that of other stocks, it resembles a zombie stock.

There are few buyers out there, especially when you compare to other stocks that start with G that people hate when I bring up...
But I'm still betting that we close at Jan expiration at 550. We're pretty oversold here...

I changed the "default" avatar. Heehee. (I know just enough to be dangerous) Thanks, the, default default gave things kind of a creepy feel. Much better now. Also, hadn't realized how much I relied on them for poster identification. Will be better as folks get around to tweaking heir profiles.
