Top o' the Morning and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Well, markets look green today...must be in honor of St. Patrick's Day ~ I should have known ~ but I think we'll have more volatility over these next two weeks!
News/Research I'm seeing on AAPL:
The Sunday Times carried an interview with Jony Ive who was quoted as saying: "We are at the beginning of a remarkable time, when a remarkable number of products will be developed. When you think about technology and what it has enabled us to do so far, and what it will enable us to do in the future, we're not even close to any kind of limit. It's still so, so new."

Meanwhile BI is already saying (FUD) that Ive probably did the interview due to a negative book about Apple that is coming out today and starting their media tour.
At JPM - Rod Hall (due to personnel changes) assumes coverage of AAPL. Unfortunately his first note which was this morning isn't insightful but instead pulling from Digitimes (of all places) : "According to Digitimes, Apple reportedly shelved its large-size tablet project because of lack of support from related platform developers and ecosystems. Our View: This is consistent with supply chain data we have been hearing ? namely, that component producers like battery makers have shelved production plans. This doesn’t mean that the product can’t be revived later this year but we do believe production has been pushed."
In other news:
Alibaba going to use the US...valued at approximately $140 BN
US and Europe (reluctantly for obvious energy reasons) due to impose sanctions on Russia ( seriously, it's actually on probably 2 oligarchs) possibly as early as today...where it all ends up...no clue right now.
This week in economic numbers: CPI (Tuesday), Fed Decision (Weds), and Jobless Claims (Thursday).
In PM AAPL was up $4 much earlier today (5:30 am) and is currently up $2.5 as I type. Remember it's all about reclaiming those daily averages and how it closes but hey, rather be green than any other color today! Enjoy your day and may AAPL bring us all our pot o' gold this year!
