Good morning folks...
Markets a bit soft here including the US. Yesterday's relief rally/short covering on light volume was exactly that. The only news out there seemingly moving markets is geopolitical in nature. Looks like Putin will want to annex Crimea...and the obvious concern is that he will want more. No needle moving news on AAPL this morning but a little crumb of news:
Apple replaces iPad 2 with 4th-gen iPad, leaves original iPad mini as only non-Retina iOS device Apple introduces 8 GB iPhone 5c in European online stores
Technicians out there still struggling on which way AAPL is going but one thing for sure ... it will go the way we don't expect.
AAPL a bit red like the rest of the market here....down about $1. The silence from the company is deafening while other companies throw out little crumbs of news...aarrgghh!
Enjoy the day.
PS Markets suddenly turned green including AAPL which is now up +$1.36 due to Putin's speech at the Duma (which is happening as I type) in which he said (roughly) that his intention is not to take the rest of Ukraine. (Then again, do you believe the liar ((he stated a few weeks ago that he didn't want Crimea))? Who knows...but the market seems to and it eliminates some uncertainty.) Anyway, about an 80 point swing in the Dow based on this.

From the lack of posts yesterday an today it would appear people are simply not interested in this stock right now ...
Cramer did a piece on this yesterday and it appears to me that he is correct ... Without a new product this is dead money ...
I can't imagine anything new for a couple of months

Looks like Microsoft will be launching Office for iPads on 3/27th. I can't tell you how many people I know that don't use iPad for business due to not having Office on it. This could spur sales of iPads for businesses. When my husband heard the news this morning he said that he will equip his personnel with them as soon as it launches and he can see what it looks like.

Other companies are feeding some news out. Even though AAPL has always been very secretive, the landscape has changed in the tech world and in some way, shape, or form - they need to be out there more often then they currently are for sure! IMHO

Let's hope content creators and the distribution channels understand what Amazon did to the publishing industry.

The Moto 360 has been announced: moto360.motorola.comI have to say - it looks great. Makes the Galaxy Gear look like the cheap piece of crap that it is. I think this is a design that works, because it looks like a watch. The question remains does it do anything significantly better or different than a smartphone? I'd love to hear something from Apple soon.

Wow, what crap. So I say, "Tim Cook is married to an alien from Mars and eats babies and flogs employees and fills his car up with baby seal blubber as fuel," and Cook tersely and gruffly denies this, and I respond, "see, touched a nerve!" Yeah, you touched the, "you wrote a book without speaking to any of the principals and got a lot of shit wrong nerve." What insane troll logic. "I wrote a book without being able to develop any direct sources for the subject matter of it, and the principals I wrote about are mad that I got things wrong, so it is their job to meet with me after my troll bomb explodes to correct my inaccuracies." Wow. I think Cook, at some point, should sit down with a sympathetic author who wants to do a book on Apple and feed him some access journalism, a la Bob Woodward. Anyway, monthly expiration week, or as I like to call it, "buy extra put spreads week." BTW, I wouldn't base interest in Apple on the number of posts here. Some people actually pay attention to the market during market hours, rather than blather on message boards about it.

I'd love to hear something from Apple soon. (Image removed to save space) I admit this is the best design I have seen so far, but rather thick and don't have a clue of its capabilities. I found this link to this site on the Braeburngroup forum posted by Pat. TechinsighterWorth the read and for the more adventuresome there are links to many of the patents. Apple has patented methods of working circuit boards directly on the surface of liquidmetal and much more. Could it be that the delay in an iWatch is related to Apple not wanting to produce a thick chunk of metal attached to your wrist. Also some of the patents are related to the incorporation of sensors directly on the surface of liquidmetal. I haven't waded through all of the patents and probably wouldn't understand most of them, but all this FUD about Apple not innovating is soon to be proved false.

How difficult would it be to improve on the design of Galaxy Gear? The Moto "whateveritis" is outclassed by MANY watches of this size and shape. Just because Samsung can't design an ashtray shouldn't make it the bar by which to judge others.
Ive is going to get the design right, and it won't be compared to Samsung's crap (or even Moto's facsimile of a regular watch).

There's more than one way to do a watch, even an iWatch. Not like Android Wear will do much for Android anyway. Smartphone margins are bad enough for most vendors.

I just hope the screen is big enough to view important stuff. So long it's a touch screen, hell yeah. Here's a good, plausible scenario for the missing plane. Of course, I expect the talking heads to begin speculating that Flight 370 landed on the Moon. FU*K! The media is so DUMB! www.wired.com/autopia/2014/03/mh370-electrical-fire/

I'm starting to think we might not ever find out what happened .... unbelievable stuff ...

Just because Samsung can't design an ashtray shouldn't make it the bar by which to judge others. Ive is going to get the design right, and it won't be compared to Samsung's crap (or even Moto's facsimile of a regular watch). For people who are into watches, there is no possible way for a Smartwatch to outclass the mechanical devices. That includes both Moto and Apple. The companies that do this work have generations of design experience and what they create is an art form. I think it is unrealistic to think that the Apple product is going to displace the mid to high end of the existing watch market, by knocking these devices off the customers wrist and replacing it with a piece of electronics. But people who buy a watch just to tell time and buy low to mid range watches? Or those that don't have anything on their wrist? I think something like this Moto design could get some traction there, which is more than I can say for the Gear. I would never go near it, because of it being attached to Google who I don't trust, but lots of people don't seem to be very concerned that Google intends to watch your every move and sell that data.
