Does anyone know why AAPL seems to introduce all their products in the last half or even the last quarter of the year? Why don't they spread it out? Is there a reason this is happening? I understand the logic on the timing of the iPhone wrt when the largest number of data plans may be coming off but I'm referring to other product categories (assuming we get them as TC promised). Wouldn't it be better to do this at different intervals during their fiscal year? Just trying to understand the rationale.

I agree, they need to start staggering releases again. I don't see how anyone can argue that bunching up releases like this benefits the company or consumer.

I think the Amazon Fire release is perfect for Apple. It gives them something to blow out of the water when releasing an updated AppleTV, whether it's an actual TV or just a box.
Right now, the Amazon Fire's "advantages" are games - which will be obliterated if a new AppleTV supports iOS apps - and voice search - Siri. Apple already has the technology to surpass those, so all they need is to add more usability, which is what Apple is best at. Gesture control?
On top of that, the Fire doesn't have MLB, NHL and HBO.

I like how everyone competes not with Apple, but with the Apple rumor mill.

My point was that Fire isn't even competitive with the current AppleTV.

So Google has split and is still higher than Apple... Salt in the wound I still think a 8 to 1 or 10 to 1 split would be good...I realize it technically doesn't change anything, but I think the idea of making the stock price smaller would be good.

FWIW: Jon Fortt commented on this earlier. He said that at this point the tech community feels that Samsung is trying a bit too hard with this and it's getting old. People aren't even paying attention to it any longer. He felt that it can almost backfire and suspects they may have to lighten up a bit here but he said with Samsung you just never know.

Worse than that, there's been some pushback from the whitehouse.... Stay classy, Samsung...

Approaching record level of lowest number of intraday posts... just saying. Coincides with low market and AAPL trading volumes.
