Line up dip buyers.
Details on Apple's new bond deal emerging. The issue will be in Europe, presumably to use offshore cash and minimize tax in the USA.
From Reuters
UPDATE 1-Apple bonds offer decent concession at IPT stage Tue Apr 29, 2014 9:07am EDT
By John Balassi and Shankar Ramakrishnan
NEW YORK, April 29 (IFR) - Apple is offering new issue concessions of between 6bp to 15bp on its new seven-tranche dollar bond announced on Monday, its first jumbo offering since its debut USD17bn deal around a year ago.
Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank are acting as lead bookrunners for the trade, which will finance share repurchases and the payment of dividends after the company increased its authorised share buybacks by USD30bn to USD90bn by the end of 2015.
Initial price talk has been set at Treasuries plus 30bp area for the three-year fixed, Treasuries plus 50bp area on the five-year fixed, Treasuries plus 75bp area on the seven-year fixed, Treasuries plus 90bp area on the 10-year fixed and Treasuries plus 115-120bp on the 30-year fixed.
According to investors, Apple's outstanding 2.4% May 2023s are quoted at a G spread of 75bp, suggesting the new issue concession on the 10-year is around 15bp.
The 30-year bonds are offering a smaller concession of around 6bp-11bp based on where the outstanding 3.85% May 2043 is trading at Treasuries plus 104bp, while the five-year bonds offer a roughly 11bp concession compared with the outstanding 1% May 2018s trading at a G spread of 39bp.
Price talk on the two floating rate notes, with three and five year maturities, is at Libor equivalent.
Apple said on its earnings call last week that it planned to be active in both the domestic and international bond markets during 2014 "for an amount of term debt financing similar to what we issued in 2013". (Reporting by John Balassi and Shankar Ramakrishnan; Editing by Natalie Harrison)

The Apple vs Scamsung verdict might come as early as tomorrow. If it's a win for Apple, then we're sure to break the 600 wall based on that news alone.
And GOOG will be in a tight(er) spot.
What say?

I don't expect a decisive win for Apple, plus I don't think most people know about or care much about this trial. That would only change if Apple got some kind of injunction.

I'm thinking we break out of this intraday wedge to the upside any minute now ...

Piercings and wedgies...TA sounds painful and deviant. Anyway, probably good to get a little breather from climbing the staircase so we don't get the elevator shaft...

Can someone answer a couple of questions regarding the SS patent trial? 1 - Is this an appeal of the earlier jury verdict that awarded ~1B to Apple? 2 - If this is not an appeal of that earlier verdict, what happened to that award? Under appeal and a decision to come in the future? 3 - If this is an appeal of that earlier decision, will any new award add onto the previous award or replace it?

WAG, one more push before retracing to, not lower than $572.

WAG, one more push before retracing to, not lower than $572. Cool. I have my sell order ready on the next push to $700. Apple in the next 1-2 weeks is dependent on institutional interest growing. Then, it's WWDC and the anticipation of split. If more data points suggest an earlier iPhone 6 launch, then AAPL looks poised to travel north.
