Good morning...
While you were sleeping: Europe and Asia mixed. US futures flat. AAPL still that nice shade of green. We need to get thru that $594/$595 technical area with conviction (then "free-sailing from there" according to appledoc) or we will see some retrace below $590 and maybe (according to Mace's post) a retrace to $572 before continuing the ascend. Let's see what happens here. If it does go lower, I plan on adding to my position.
News on Apple: - Rod Hall at JPM re: Our View: Apple refreshes MacBook Air (AAPL: Positive): Apple updated its MacBook Air with faster processors and lower prices, with the 11” and 13” thin-and-lights getting 100MHz speed boosts compared to outgoing models at $100 lower price.....This move officially puts Apple in the sub $1,000 laptop market with a simple downprice as opposed to our more technically complicated “iAnywhere” thesis. We note that this market is worth $63bn/year and 100m units. - Kiss of Death???: Apple (AAPL) Model Adjusted at Goldman Sachs, Price Target Raised to $635 (no link) - Morgan Stanley this morning raises tgt to $690 from $630 and ups FY15 ests on bullish outlook for US smartphone mkt. Bull case tgt now $860 (no link) - Numerous articles on MacBook Air pricing slashed and on the potential look of iPhone 6 on various news outlets. - Lastly, court case gone to jury.
FYI: At 8:30 we get GDP today Also - as of this morning - Max Pain for Friday is $565 but it's still early in the week.
Enjoy the over the hump day ... and in case you haven't noticed ... the tide has most definitely changed in this name.

It is based on the twitter stream with the hash tag #appsung. This hash tag stream includes all of the reporters who were AT the trial.

Muller has made an absolute mess of his fine record, erasing years of his own hard work as he does a puzzling 180.

Muller has made an absolute mess of his fine record, erasing years of his own hard work as he does a puzzling 180. Yep, his tweet from this morning, essentially chocked up Apple's first victory as the product of a non thinking jury who took the easy way out and sided with Apple. One of two things have happened with this guy: 1. Samsung or an agency who takes their marching orders from Samsung have him on the payroll. 2. He has decided like countless others, that the way to drive page views is to start slamming Apple, thereby turning himself into another cheap page hit whore. Either way, he has destroyed his record and reputation. Everyone has their price. I wonder what his was.

Muller has claimed his preferred platform is Android. He's writing an app with a SDK that he himself claimed is stolen. No surprise on his slant on trial blogging.

Max Pain is knocked out this week but OI still bears watching, as the call wall at $600 is strong. Price upgrades puffed AAPL up today but if I was a buyer, I think there's a better entry point before Friday, unless institutions are pulling levers to buy. Hey, I sound like a TA person with the IF>THEN business. As in, IF the world blows up, THEN I won't have to worry about my leaps.

600 is a psychological resistance only. Expect continued skyrocket once it gets taken down. I'm thinking 700 before iPhone 6.

I have to believe that Google's Android Silver Program will only accelerate the move of Samsung and others to alternative software platforms such as Tizen.

10,000 call contracts at $600 is not "psychological."

Anyway... 595+, 597+ in particular would be another great close considering. AAPL could finally be retaking a major macro trendline. Could. Why it matters:

FWIW I'd think retaking a major trendline after 2+ years in combination with a bunch of other catalysts based on fundamentals and sentiment would serve to bump AAPL quite a bit _over_ the trendline, but what do I know

Say wha? How exactly did they phrase the question? And whatever the question was, how does that square with maybe 1.5M Surfaces sold per quarter, if that?

I hope Mace reads these posts tonight but I don't recall him saying anything about going back to the dungeon so relax. If Mace does read this, please feel free to elaborate with respect to your post from yesterday when you said we could be sub $590. Let's not jump the gun here...also, appleaddict, kindly define "dungeon" in terms of stock price. 580's, 570's, 560's.... Also, is there any word out from the trial at all? Stock popped +1 1/2 in AH...just wondering if anything was said somewhere. TIA

IIRC, Mace mentioned a possible retrace to $572 before continuing the advance up.
