Good morning While you were sleeping: - Asia mixed - Europe mixed - US futures looking flat - AAPL is pretty much flat in PM - David Tepper being quoted all morning saying that he wouldn't be too frigging long the market here ... saying, "It's nervous time." He's struggling on market direction here like most people. Attributes nervousness to ECB, Chinese monetary policy, US growth too slow, risk of deflation, etc. - WMT reported this moring (light on both top and bottom line) - and - Jobless Claims come at 8:30 am both may set the tone a bit News on AAPL: - It may not mean much to some but given my mishaps at times I'm grateful for what appleinsider is reporting: New Apple tech helps prevent misdirected messages and emails appleinsider.com/articles/14/05/15/new-apple-tech-helps-misdirected-text-messages - Reuters reporting: With its sights on Apple, China smartphone maker Xiaomi unveils first tablet : finance.yahoo.com/news/sights-apple-china-smartphone-maker-102903404.htmlMax Pain looking around $590 or very slightly higher Sad day in the household last night - Son loves Bruins and they came up short against the Canadiens. Then to boot, Brooklyn Nets lost against the much hated Miami Heat. He was distraught - went straight to bed. Oh well. Shit happens...deal with it. Have a lovely day and enjoy it!

And the interface shown on the MiPad looks very familiar, too. MiOS 7?

Man..Xiaomi make Samsung look like a tech company with distinctly designed original products. Is there anything about a mipad that isn't directly reference from an Apple product. It's just so shameless. Hope the loose face big time over this. Being based in Beijing I wonder what ties they have with whom....... (a question...somewhat rhetorically loaded.(could be unfounded...anyone?))

FYI: "Hugo Barra delivered candid remarks in one of his first public appearances since news broke of his departure as Google’s high-ranking vice president of Android. Now he’s vice president for Xiaomi Global, and is responsible for leading the Chinese company’s international expansion efforts."

Despite the article saying not to expect this in an Apple product immediately, this is in fact already in iOS 7, albeit in a subtle way. When you're making a phone call, the background of your iOS device's screen becomes a very blurred version of the contact's photo. In fact, I've found that many of these 'newly-revealed' Apple patents often are already being featured in Apple products, albeit in slightly different forms.

AAPL is on the Buying on Weakness list, but only has an anemic 1.07 ratio. All block trades have been on upticks though.

With all the chop in the broader market, AAPL has held up surprisingly well in a narrow range, 585-605. Just 2% below highs - I'll take that for sure... Build a bull flag and then advance another 10% please

No chance in hell AAPL closes above 600 tomorrow w/ those 22,000 calls sitting there. Easy money. "Options decay, but latinum lasts forever." - Ferengi Rule of Acquisition #102

"Options decay, but latinum lasts forever." - Ferengi Rule of Acquisition #102 Serious question. Won't there always be a huge call wall at 600? Assuming higher prices happen sometime in AAPL's future, there will have to be a week where bullishness overwhelms the call wall. Unless we'll be sitting below 600 until the split?

Unless we'll be sitting below 600 until the split? Well, yeah, but call volume has increased of late, what with the general bullishness of Apple these days. The lemmings are back in full force! But of course major developments/news/bullishness can trump pain, as happened in January (500's fell, but shorting 550's did pay off well). One can make good money selling calls (or buying put spreads), even 1 or 2 days before OpEx. And yeah, I expect the split to shake things up, which is why I went long around and after the split date.

I'd be surprised by AAPL 600+ unless the indices had some crazy rally to finish the week...
And AAPL wouldn't participate anyway because it's OpEx, I mean supply and demand Friday
