Good morning all
While you were sleeping:
- Asia-Pacific: Mixed but mostly red
- Europe: Green
- US Futures: Flat to Green
- AAPL in PM: $93.94 (+$0.08) or (0.09%)
- Hopes for the Stanley Cup for NY still alive thanks to Mr. Lunquist. (Thought this was imp. enough to note )
Snapshot for news on Apple:
- This was on the news this morning and it happens to be on Cnet as well - hilarious and thought you would get a kick out of it - thanks to his iPhone, thanks again, Steve: www.cnet.com/news/man-trapped-in-vegas-airport-makes-iphone-music-video/
- More on the tax investigation - although one pro's view yesterday was that all was done legally but that the EU is making a stink (so to speak) because they aren't reaping the benefits across the board and only the respective countries (i.e. Ireland) are enjoying the benefits. So typical ... I guess it would be okay if the benefits were shared with other countries? Geez! More on the investigation from Bloomberg: EU Tax-Breaks Probe, Payday Loans, Corruption: Compliance: www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-06-12/eu-tax-breaks-probe-payday-loans-corruption-compliance.html?cmpid=yhoo ~and~ Wall St. Journal: online.wsj.com/articles/eu-to-probe-tax-affairs-of-apple-starbucks-1402476699?ru=yahoo?mod=yahoo_itp
- MacRumors: Amazon Launches 'Prime Music' Streaming Service with Access to Over One Million Songs: www.macrumors.com/2014/06/12/amazon-prime-music-launch/ ~and~ from AppleInsider on the same topic: Amazon launches free 'Prime Music' streaming service for Prime members: appleinsider.com/articles/14/06/12/amazon-launches-free-prime-music-streaming-service-for-prime-members
- AppleInsider: Apple's smarter Smart Cover keeps users up to date with illuminated alerts: appleinsider.com/articles/14/06/12/apples-smarter-smart-cover-users-with-illuminated-notifications
- Have I recently said that I love Howard? Well, I do love Howard. 9 to 5 Mac: Starbucks teams up with Duracell to place iPhone-compatible wireless chargers in coffee shops: 9to5mac.com/2014/06/11/starbucks-teams-up-with-duracell-to-place-iphone-compatible-wireless-chargers-in-coffee-shops/
- So, there is a headline out there that reads: Samsung endorser LeBron James made a reported $30M from Apple's Beats buy HOWEVER, all outlets say that it is Apple Insider who has the story and yet you can't seem to get the article when you click on it. I'm guessing they are trying to remove it? Not sure. Anyway, for us Miami Heat/Lebron James haters --- just infuriating. He sides with the enemy but makes money off of Apple's acquisition. aarrgghhhh!
