shouldn't we see an IBM announcement any day now , the month is almost over ... Pretty sure you're going to have to wait until December for that. Some ships move faster than others.

Nice to see AAPL sail past $118. The next often mentioned technical level, for those who follow such things, is 122. We could be there next week...

I hope you're wrong billh - expectations need to be managed and if you state that there will be an announcement before the end of the month then you should do exactly that. It's bad form otherwise ... 6 days left. Let's hope they're big boys and act like big boys.

I don't know what was promised exactly but if he said should have, hope to have, plan to have or any derivative then I suspect we won't have anything until later. If he said will have, then Apple will probably release some kind of statement. After all, one could say just about anything while remaining truthful. My birdies tell me that certain elements are proceeding more slowly than originally planned and that December would be more likely for a meaningful update.

KGI's Ming Kuo. Est. 71 million 6 and 6 plus iPhones for the first quarter. Doesn't even include the old models in that number. If we get anywhere close to that then the numbers for the quarter will be absolutely HUGE. Apple will almost certainly have to come out with a pre announcement to update their estimates for the quarters earnings if they want to continue to stay in the more accurate range they have been in for the last year or so. No that's total iPhones for the quarter, including 5S, 4S, etc.

AAPL's at ATH's because my sister bought a 27" iMac, an iPad3 Mini and two iPhone 6's. These are her first Apple products EVER! I bought two iPhone 6's today and an iMac 5k, iPad2 Air, iPad2 mini, plus assorted accessory goodies in the past month. You are all welcome my friends (can't get the work computer to do smilies here, sorry, otherwise I would add 20 or so

Apple has a chance to report the highest YOY increase in EPS since March 2012, if memory serves.

PE at 18.45, not seen since March '11. Giddy yet nervous. What a ride.

Apple has a chance to report the highest YOY increase in EPS since March 2012, if memory serves. But it's not possible for such a big company to do that! (or so they said)

My WAG: Approx. 16.5 if you assume something like $2.80 EPS for the December quarter (which does NOT require 71.5M iPhones) and diluted shares of 5.81B (recall that Apple reported 5.87B shares at the beginning of the quarter (Oct 10) per Apple's 10K).

I forget, is the 10-K reported shares count diluted? And moment-in-time vs. share-weighted?

118 is one of those prices that I used to tell myself (weeks ago - back in the 98 range), if hit BEFORE CHRISTMAS, I would lighten up. Somebody talk me out of it. Red... Don't do it! I just hope I was persuasive enough...

I forget, is the 10-K reported shares count diluted? And moment-in-time vs. share-weighted? I believe it's a moment in time share count and basic shares, not diluted. Regardless, the EPS # won't move much if otherwise.

Yep. Harder for buybacks to move the needle as market cap approaches $700B.

I cannot find a technician that isn't looking for a pullback....so now I'm wondering if we will get one or may it be a little while longer before we do? Hmmmm..... Maybe you need a fundamentician in your life. There are plenty of stocks out there whose charts have gone nosebleed a lot worse than AAPL without some pullback, and they are no Apple. As Mercel said, the correction is going on now after a 2 year lull! And BTW, if you must find a bullish entrailnician, how about Stock TA.com? Seriously folks, this is where TA fails. It looks at squiggly lines and tries to make sense of the what, without understanding the why. Apple is on a roll right now as a company, so its stock should be too, and it is. I've never seen things align more bullishly with both at the same time like this (iPhone sales on fire, Samsung dying, and major stock momo = monster juggernaut).
One thing I'd like to try to discourage here. The latest AAPL FUD floating around out there is the big scary market cap number. I can't think of a more meaningless, arbitrary metric. In no way does market cap actually express a company's real value (let alone a stock's), since it does not consider earnings or growth or margins. Everyone, resist the urge to parrot this FUD, and when you hear it, talk your book and bring up how cheap AAPL is on a P/E basis. Mark my words, this is the only way someone can attack AAPL right now, so when you hear it, your trolldar should be wailing. Cheers to the longs.

FUD just leads to negative sentiment. Negative sentiment leads to selling. Selling leads to lower AAPL. Lower AAPL leads to unhappy AFB'ers... then we all resort to discussing politics.....
